The Inherent Inferiority of the Female Species
Women are inferior. They take things too personally. They tend to be bad drivers. They take communal bathroom trips. They won’t say what’s on their mind and they make guys guess—not to mention that whole hormone, mood-swings thing. They can’t follow directions. I know you are getting mad. Go eat a pint of ice cream and some chocolate for emotional support. What’s with this insatiable, obsessive need to talk on the phone. I mean who cries during Walk to Remember or Spiderman? Women. And I’m sorry; not every dog is a puppy. Estrogen and Menopause and Pink Wrappers, Oh my—kill me, please! History, science, and the Bible all agree: women suck. Cliché as it sounds it’s true.
Women, historically as well as recently, have been the root cause of evil and problems in society. Women perpetuated the fall of man. Back to Biblical time’s women have been tempting men. Eve, Delilah, Bath-Sheba, Jezebel, and Job’s wife were all temptresses and all evil. The Women’s Temperance Union tried to dry up America. The Volstead Act ushered in a period of record high organized crime and America’s “Noble Experiment” compounded the problems of the nation. I assert that Oprah Winfrey and her pet, Dr. Phil, have caused numerous problems in modern society. The divorce rate has steadily increased even in an age where “cohabitation” has decreased the number of marriages. “America’s therapist” has a voice that is heard—she is screaming “Don’t eat beef”, “Find your Spirit”, “Ditch your lover.” Fallout, demarcated by numerous costly lawsuits, has caused an “Oprah-demic” throughout the nation.
Science has guaranteed both mental and physical inferiority for females. Craniologists and neuro-anatomists have studied brains of cadavers and unanimously agree that female brains are 10-20% smaller than male brains. Paul Pierre Broca, a once world renown physician published theories claiming, “human brains are larger in mature adults than in the elderly, in men than in women, in eminent men than in men of mediocre talent...Other things equal there is a remarkable relationship between the development of intelligence and the volume of the brain.” Biologists also accredit male mental superiority to different biological niches. Because a female's main function was to reproduce, she necessarily devoted her energy to maintaining the mental cycle. Men do use some energy to fuel their reproductive organs; but, because they do not perform mothering tasks, they can devote most of their energy to thinking. According to Charles Darwin, the process of natural selection caused males to have to prove themselves physically and intellectually superior to other males in their competition for females. By applying his theories on evolution and natural selection, Darwin attributed male superiority to ages of social and biological conditioning. While female minds and bodies were stagnating, males were mentally and physically improving themselves by competing for tail.
The Bible unquestionably proclaims male superiority. Elizabeth Cady Stanton claimed the Christian Church was the greatest hindrance for the feminist movement: "The Bible and the church have been the greatest stumbling blocks in the way of woman's emancipation." She may have been right. God himself stated, “It is not good that the man should be alone. I will give him a helpmate” (Genesis 2:18-19). God created females subservient to males as a “helpmate.” St. Paul dissemenates in his first letter to the Corinthians a proclamation of male dominance: "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God." (1 Corinthians 11:3). He later speaks on God’s behalf articulating, "For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man." (1 Corinthians 11:8-9). First Timothy contains “Kightley’s” infamous quote—“Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence” (1 Timothy 2:11-12). Perhaps most damning of all is Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything" (Ephesians 5:22-24). Pages and pages of quotes can be strung together all asserting my assertion. (Fortunately, I only need 3-4 pages worth.) “The B I B L E yes that’s the book for me” a male—not for you females.
Sad thing is, some people actually believe this. Where would we be without women? We wouldn’t—that’s the point. I’m sorry, sorry guys: male superiority is a myth. If the female species has evolved slower than man, it is only because of the social conditioning imposed by males. Besides, who’s to say that evolution is progress? Man’s evolution has made the world more competitive and more cutthroat—is that a good thing? Certainly in recent years, women have closed the gender gap and have become man’s “equal.” As for the Bible preaching female inferiority, many quote the bible severely out of context. God created man and woman to be equal: “God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them" (Gen. 1:27). In fact the Bible states that men should treat women with respect, purity, dignity and honor, love and submission. This is quite contrary to the misogynistic interpretations of Christian doctrine that formed the faulty basis for my paper. As for the Freudian crap, who wants to listen to a man named Sigismund Schlomo Freud? Keep in mind, this is the man who proclaimed that babies enjoy playing with their feces and who can forget that Oedipus shit? The simple fact remains: women are as important as men in society and in the home. “If the man is the head of the family, the woman is the neck. She can turn him any way she wants” (My Big Fat Greek Wedding). Scientific research backs this: after marriage male testosterone levels drop leaving the male “softer” and less competitive—more prepared for a cooperative relationship. The historical evolution of the female role in society in fact emphasizes their importance. Men traditionally have been the “bread winner” because they are far more expendable. If a man died while hunting and gathering food, the wife can continue with her chores and find a new provider. My dad goes on business trips all the time; my family runs fine. My mom was in the hospital for a week sophomore year and I nearly had a nervous break down. Scientific theories of the past have been disproved. Size is not as important as how you use it, pertaining to the brain that is. The “Inherent Inferiority of the Female Species” is a myth.
