I'll Be There 

 
Thought you might want to know 

I'll be your friend that will let you grow 

Upon our first glances 

With a smile and a hug 

We both took our chances 

               

We took the time to get to know each other, 

For that's how a friendship should begin, 

And now I know that we will be there for each other 

Without hesitation, sharing all that is held within. 

 

I hope you don't think that I would pry 

Oh heaven knows, not I 

To share your moments whether high or low

 I'll be there, when the others go 

 

When you can't see the light of day 

For all the troubles that seem to be in the way 

Or when you want that special hug from me 

I'll treat you warm and tenderly....... 

 

Standing beside you through your times of tears 

I'll calm and comfort you, despite all your fears 

To embrace you with all of your fantasies 

Enduring and nurturing your realities 

I'll be the light to help you find your way 

And I will hug you each and every day, 

So you will always feel safe with me, 

And be loved the way you were meant to be. 

 

With a guiding hand and a smile in my heart 

Walking side by side, a friend from the start  

Alone you will never be 

Just turn to me and you will see 

   

I discovered a very special person when I met you, 

And I make this vow...to you I swear, 

That when you need me, just call my name, 

In the name of friendship, I will always be there.
