Pittsburgh/Allegheny County Belt System



The Greater-Pittsburgh Metro Area has a group of roads marked with different color routes to give a alternative to the Golden Triangle. It was developed in the late 1940's by Joseph White. The color system is set with the colors of the rainbow with the outermost being red. This way when you cross a color, you know how close you are to Downtown Pittsburgh.
