Richard Lambert
A creative midfielder, and the catalyst of
all things good for SCFC at the moment.

| Where did we find
him? Ricky Lambert was bought from Macclesfield for 300k a couple
of years ago. After the first year and a half seeing him play it seemed
like a bit of a waste of money, but recently (under the expert guidance
of Sammy Mcilroy and Mark Lillis) he has come on leaps on bounds. |
| Where does he play?
In the middle of the pitch, as the creative midfielder. He's almost
like a support striker sometimes, this season he has scored more than
the two current front men. |
| Strengths? His
ability to spot the opportunity of a pass and then to deliver it inch
perfect is sublime. Sometimes the crowd is left in awe as he switches
the ball from one corner of the pitch to the other with ease. He is the
best hitter of the ball for County by far, he puts his head down an
unleashes; even from dead ball situations. Anyone remember that free
kick against Blackpool at home? He doesn't just smack it all the time
though, his placement and technique of shooting is world class; against
Sheffield Wednesday at home he teed himself up before unleashing a
perfect half volley past Pressman. Also, I don't think he has missed a
penalty yet this season. Cool as a cucumber springs to mind. |
| Weakness'?
Sometimes he seems to drift in and out of games, often being completely
ineffective for whole half's. Also, as the more creative midfielder, he
doesn't do much tackling compared to other players. I'd say his heading
is somewhere in between bad and average. Not the fastest of players,
but he doesn't need to be for the game he plays. |

| At the moment he is
bringing a touch of class to Stockport and it surely cant be long
before he is snapped up for bigger and better things. |
