QPR Away
Its going to be a toughie!!

Actually, tough is an understatement.
Hellish is how I think it will be for the travelling supporters. All that
way down Sarf, potentially to be the end of a right old hammering.
Tomorrows game really will be an indicator of just how far we have come
since Sammy Mcilroy took over from Carlton Palmer. To face a team of
QPR's stature (in this league) will be a test of our skill, character and
all round football ability.
However, some might say that our current
league place of 18 is a bad reflection of our current form. In fact we
are the form. Teams in the relegation dog fight like us aspire to
putting a run together as we have. In fact, its nothing short of
miraculous. 5 weeks ago we were dead and buried, 2nd to the bottom and
almost in fear of lowly Wycombe catching us. We had just been on the
receiving end of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Colchester. 8 games, 5
wins and 3 draws later we are now 18th, the form team in the league and
have an excellent chance of staving off the dreaded drop. Most say that 3
or 4 points will do it. In our last game, against Oldham, we showed flair
skill and excellent attacking ability. One moment of lax defending cost
us 2 points.
On the other hand, QPR aren't doing to
bad for themselves either!! They're second in the league, and obviously
have an excellent chance of automatic promotion. Their results over the
last 4 games aren't that impressive; 1 win (against the 2nd worst team
[form wise] in the division), 2 draws and 1 loss. While we are on
statistics, here's a mind boggler for you; they haven't lost one game at
home in the league all season. And with the finishing line so close, I'm
sure they will want to uphold that record. However, as the old saying
goes, records are there to be broken!
I believe that they are having a few
problems defensively at the moment, they let in three goals against
Barnsley (as did we earlier in the season) and are without defenders
Clarke Carlisle and Steve Palmer. In the County camp, Beckett is still
not fit enough for a return and the BBC claims that Andy Welsh has
suffered a knock in training and will not be playing. It is presumed
someone poked him. Robertson should play a part again after coming on
successfully against Chesterfield and Oldham over Easter.
Key Men: The strike force of
Gallen and Furlong, who have scored 16 and 15 goals respectively. The
outcome of tomorrows match could depend on how these two play. Lambert is
our most influential player at the moment, if he plays well we could be
looking at a good result. Similarly, if Daly plays the way he did against
Oldham and Chesterfield he is sure to score.
Prediction: QPR 2 County 2 - With
all of the Key Men outlined above to score. A point will be an excellent
result.
