As 
's first album,
it feels very much like a return to the Prince of old. The Gold Experience
is a patchwork of musical styles, with lyrics that vary from raunchy
to significant.
Lyrics
The "gold" experience, and implied by the monotonic "NPG operator"
is Life and Love in all its forms, including jealousy and hate.
Strange juxtapositions abound: nasty female empowerment in P. Control,
gentle/harsh frustration in BJB, and one sided lawful/abusive fixation in
Hate U.
