THE PROFILE
What is Mag-uugmad Foundation?


We are a non-profit organization,evolved from a World Neighbors assisted Cebu Soil and Water Conservation Project. A U.S. - Based international development organization; World Neighbors had been supporting the project since its inception in 1981 to year 2001.

Estabished by key farmer leaders and staff, MFI was registed with the securities and exchange Commission on June 22, 1988.

MFI has over twenty years of experience in addressing environmental degradation, natural resource conservation and management, as well as, organizing communities for develpment. we have Devoted our efforts in providing rurl communities the necessary knowledge and skills to challenge the issue of low productivity of farming families through appropriate technologies that control environmental degradation and promote sustainable agriculture. MFI employed a strategy of mobilizing villagers to stimulate a farmers teaching and organizing program.

Vision

A professional and progressive farmer-based learning non-government organization for sustainable upland development in the philippines continuously partnering with organized communities and self-reliant peoples organizations toward transformation of healthy, peaceful, prosperous, environmentally-friendly and spiritually-culturally sensitive farming communities.

Mag-uugmad Foundation foresees a transformation of its role from direct implementers of development projects to adviser-facilitator of peoples organizations and ultimately, become one of the major learning centers for sustainable upland and community development in the Philippines and Southeast Asia.


Mission

  • Strengthen the capabilities of partner peoples organizations to effectivly manage and devlop the local resources for the betterment of the quality of life in farming communities
  • Partner and empower differnt stakeholders in building of sustainable and gender-fair communities , Promote and Practice farmer-based and participatory approaches in continuous learning and development processes towards nurturing responsible, critical thingking, and compassionate attitude of men and women farmers and other stakeholders.
  • Mobilize institutional capacities and genrate resources fro the sustainability of professional, dynamic and dedicated personnel and operation of Mag-uugmad Foundation Incorporated
