Rest In Peace, Aaliyah Houghton. January 16, 1979 - August 25, 2001

Today is the second anniversary of Aaliyah's death. Everyone, please take a moment to say a prayer (if you believe in that) for her family and friends. Thank you.

Let me explain to you why I started this site. I wasn't a very big fan of Aaliyah while she was alive. But when I found out what had happened to her, I was very affected. She was so young and had so much going for her; her death is a complete tragedy. She will be missed greatly by the music and film industry and millions of fans.

I created this site to make sure that her legacy will not be forgotten. I still cannot believe that she is actually gone. I just can't understand the concept of death, the fact that she is gone forever, that she'll never be able to record a song or act in a movie ever again. It's a shame. Her physical aspect might be gone, but her soul and her spirit will ALWAYS be with us.

Something I want everyone to remember and acknowledge is the fact that nine people died on that plane. Not just one. Yes, Aaliyah's death is a tragedy, but so are the eight other deaths. Each person on that plane was special to somebody, each person had family and friends, I'm sure. Some people (myself included) have been forgetting about the other passengers and the pilot. God bless all of their souls.
