11:56PM EST: Commander Bob from H2O Commandos has generously allowed Water Wars to post his picture of him and his arsenal in the Picture Gallery. So that picture was added to the Gallery, and I also had to fix a broken link on that page to my arsenal picture, and mess around with the spacing of it. It's fixed now.
By the way, I can't even type in this text editor thing to edit this page without a big delay on what I write. And I'm a fast typist, so it's bothersome to make a mistake and then wait for the thing to catch up so I can fix it. It's because this is a HUGE file. I'm thinking about getting rid of all of the news as of recently (this past week or so) and starting fresh. If anyone wants to read the old news, they can find it either in a new addition to the newsletter; "Random News Clippings from Water Wars" or it could be available for download somewhere or something. It's just too big and too much of a hassle to make a new News archive page every so often. Oh well, I got that out of me.
11:40PM EST: Now I'm just going around looking for things to update, which I think is a good way to get things done, if you ask me. The My Arsenal page has been updated, since I got quite a few more soakers, and even sold one. Also, the page now has the most recent picture of the arsenal, which would be a very appropriate place for it to be.
11:22PM EST: YEAH! I made a pretty good addition to the site; a new image in the Picture Gallery! Check out the new picture of me and my arsenal in the Picture Gallery.
7:37PM EST: Okay! The school year is starting and I haven't added more reviews, I'm sorry. But I will try to get some reviews in soon before winter rolls around and ruins any expectations to go outside and play with water guns.

8:05PM EST: The review for the Monster XL has been completed. It has also been added to the Review page's listing. Check out the review here.
Saturday, August 16, 2003
8:12PM EST: CPS 2500 review completed. Actually, I'd like to retake some of those pictures because they're a tad blurry, but other than that, +1 to Water Wars' Review section. And it has been added to the Review page, if you were wondering. I am aware that there are a few other places I need to add the link to the review to, like the Site Index page, but I'll get to that later. Soon to come (maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow) will be the MXL review. As I've been saying, I just have to upload them and write the review. Actually, they've already been uploaded. It's the time to write the review that I'm waiting for. Enjoy the newest review to the site.

12:55PM EST: Alright, now I'm on my other, non-contaminated computer and I can finally get some writing in. Some of the changes to the site that have already been put in effect is on the main page. To start, I took out that artsy background of the Super Soaker 50 and returned it to all black. Next I took out the "Even More Important Announcement" thing that was letting everyone know about how I'm leaving for camp. Then I updated the marquee. Between the two marquees I updated the NEWSLETTER section thing to say that there will be no August Newsletter. The reason why there is no August newsletter is complicated, but I'll just say that time is an enemy here. Finally, I made changes to the table down near the bottom of the page. I added in a second "artist" award to show that I won another award in the past, but I just didn't get the graphic because it's the same one as before. You'll notice that if you click on the first or second award graphic, you'll be directed to the winning image. Oh, and how about that stunningly beautiful logo image I made for the new v3.5 site? I made it all in Photoshop LE -- the same program I thought was crap months ago. But in truth, it's a powerfull program.
On to the reviews. The new reviews aren't done yet, but they will be later on today, or at the latest, tomorrow. The reviews will be for the Monster XL and the CPS 2500. The info has already been gathered and the pictures have already been taken. All that's left to do is edit the pictures to the right size and everything then upload them and write the review. As for future reviews, expect these reviews to hit the site in the near future: CPS 1700, XXP 175, XXP 275.
And more on the v3.5 update stuff. In addition to the... addition of new reviews, the update will feature a bringing back of a popular feature of the site that was cut for the v3.0 update. I'll give you a hint... it's "focusing" on specific soakers. Afterall, the theme of the v3.5 update is FOCUS.
If I can think of any, I'll add some tips, modifications, or concepts to the site. I'll try to get the Aquaholics back up, because I've had some changes I wanted to make for a while, but never got to it. To let you in on these changes, I'm lifting the restrictions and letting anyone who wants to join get in.
The 2003 Sweepstakes is still going on, and entries are still coming in. The sweepstakes will end officially on August 31. Prize notification will be sent the day after on the 1st of September. The winner is expected to return the email within 3 days of my email. If not, the prize is forfeited and a new winner will be chosen. After contact is made, I'll ask for the winner's shipping address. If it's out of the 48 states, we will have to work out a shipping deal. If the winner lives within the 48 states, I'll pay all shipping charges. The reason for this is money. I don't have much of it, and I don't want to be spending it all on shipping. The more money I save, the more I have to spend on soakers, which would enable me to review them for the site. See how it works? Anyway, that's enough typing for one news update.
12:08PM EST: v3.5 ahoy! That's right, we're now at version 3.5. What is 3.5 all about? It's about the soakers. Reviews, a "blast from the past" with one of the old Water Wars featured sections, and more. Check out Water Wars after the weekend, when a lot of the updates will be done.

8:48PM EST: Lack of updates? What lack of updates? Oh yeah, those... uh.... Anyway, I'll be gone for the next two weeks starting next Sunday (7/20/03) until August 3rd. I'm going to camp. If anyone's interested, it's Camp Sloan in Lakeville, Connecticut. Hehe, maybe if I get the address soon enough, I'll post it somewhere so I can have some contact with the outside world and still have some connections with soakers. Actually, I do plan on taking an XP 240 with me and a bunch of water balloons. Last year (as I've probably writtin in the Archives) there was a kid who brought a MD6000. I don't plan on having water fights with these soakers though....
mwahaha. There were a few kids that we liked to pull pranks on last year, so what better way to do it with the acclaimed SUPER SOAKER? Exactly.
I just finished updating the main page to update the marquee and to add the extra little notice about me going away. And as I've said in the marquee, I'm learning A LOT of computer programming right now. I haven't gotten into PHP yet, but I ordered a book to learn it, and I've delved into an 851 page book on Visual Basic 6. I'm on page 32. I'm very eager to learn Javascript. It's the "next step up" from HTML, and I'm feeling like I've already mastered HTML (even if it doesn't show in the site, hehe). So I want to progress and learn Javascript. I went to a few online lessons about it, and they helped a lot. Now I can make my own calculator, wohoo! I downloaded some eBooks about different programs, and they're pretty complex, but I'm still hanging in there. But what does this all have to do with Water Wars? Simple... If I can get a decent grasp on these languages, I can modify the Water Wars site like you wouldn't believe. PHP will enable me to ditch the frames and have that same effect, only BETTER. Javascript will let me make games to add to the Games section. I could also use it for other less complex things, like forms and other little enhancements. Flash will let me make animations, that's cool enough. I am already deep into the Flash book I bought, and I know the basics of it, so I can still make a decent movie at this point, but only when I finish the book will I be able to say "I know Flash." And the big kahuna... Visual Basic. With Visual Basic, I could make games HUNDREDS of times more complex than Javascript could. They would be in executable .exe files available for download on the site. I could even make some money off of it by making a useful program for others to use (not neccessarily a water warfare-related program) and have a service to raise some money for the site to improve.
I've been kicking around an idea at waterwar.net about a "BIG FRIGGIN' SITE." Let me just go into that briefly. What I invision for that would be to have all of the "best and brightest" in certain fields put their skills to the test by working together and making a mondo-super-cool-ultra-sonic water warfare website. It's all an idea now, and I've even gotten some volunteers to donate their efforts to the project, but it is just an idea. No name has been selected yet for it (I guess we have to find the best and brightest in the name-selecting field), but when it is, it will let the graphics artists explode into ideas and templates of designes. Logos, buttons, backgrounds, you name it, and these guys could design it. Well, I don't want to say that these people are something they're not, but I can assure you, they will make it pretty cool, judging from what I've seen them whip up so far. I'll be in the manager position of it, to manage it and be the "central" person in the midst of all of the action around me. If you think that you'd be good in a certain area in this project, don't hesitate to sent me an email. Check the bottom of this page. We would need navigation designers, editors, reporters, writers, artists, and everything else essential to a big website. This would be the kind of thing to put on a resume. No I don't mean "resume," I mean the French word... I just don't have the right keyboard to type out the funky accents over the e's.
Take advantage of the summer and go out and soak someone.

8:11PM EST: Status section added to the upper part of the Main page. Functionality is how viewabe it is (counts broken links, broken images, etc.), Activity is counting the amount of hits it gets, and Updates are counting how often I update the site. Of course, today is at 100% Updates, but overall it's more like 75% because of lack of updates between now and the last update. Anything over 50% is something to be happy about. When it's at 0%, watch out!
7:43PM EST: The Main page now has the BG image of a Super Soaker 50 (first Super Soaker to be made) with some filters and effects made in Photoshop, and then darkened and enlarged and voila. Some got cut off because of the coding, but it's no big deal so I'll leave it. It's going to take some getting used to, and there's a few things that I don't like about the new BG, but it's all minor and I can live with it anyway.
The Water Wars Monthly Newsletter for July has been sent to all of the subscribers on the 1st of the month. And fortunately, I finally found the April Newsletter! It was stored away in one of the mirror sites of Water Wars' so when I stumbled across it, I sent it out to all of the subscribers. Added bonus!
Contests... First, the Site Awards that I'd been flaunting all of June are over and the images are still in the works to award to the winning webmasters. The winners were announced in the July Newsletter I'll be contacting all of the winning webmasters via email within the next month, so they can get their prize (a little graphic to put on their site).
And the 2003 Sweepstakes is still going on, and it's cruisin' on forward. 1.75 months to go until it ends, so you've got time to get your entries in. You can enter daily by click on the "2003 SWEEPS" link in the navbar.
SPONSORS. PLEASE go check out the "SPONSORS" page in the navbar (SPONSORS) and click on those links so to go register there or buy something cheap. All profits made from the sponsors will benefit the Water Wars site entirely. I'll use it to get more bandwidth so the site isn't down as much, or more webspace so I can upload more and have a lot cooler content, or maybe even buying a dot com that I can move this site to. It's all in the future now, but with your help, it could be sooner than I expected. And with 2 out of the 3 sponsors of this site, you won't even have to spend a penny -- in fact, you'll even make money yourself for it! Help yourself to help me help Water Wars.

10:30PM EST: Alright. The link for the incomplete CPS 3000 review is here... CPS 3000 Review
3:33AM EST: Dang it's late! Or maybe early, because it's technically morning... Anyhow, I haven't gone to sleep yet. Maybe I should stop drinking so much soda. But I've added a review for one of my favorite soakers, the CPS 3000. I'm not even sure how to write this HTML properly for an URL to link you to the review, so if you're reading this and I haven't posted the URL yet, I haven't woken up yet since I posted this. Because I will do it as soon as I get up (wait, I have work tomorrow... I just remembered... d'oh!). Okay, maybe after I get home from work I'll post the link, but it'll be in 15 hours or so from now. If you like big pictures, you'll love the CPS 3000 review! I'm off to sleep now before I fall asleep and bang my head on the keyboard...
zzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

6:49AM EST: Alright. School is officially out today, even though since two Fridays ago I was taking final exams for high school and Monday of this week was the last final exam. I haven't had a class of school since two Thursdays ago and ever since then and last Sunday, I've been studying and I wasn't able to make any changes to the site. Now that I'm free (with the exception of work) I'll be posting up more reviews and making more changes. Just 5 minutes ago, I added a new section of tips. It's the Miscellaneous Tips section. All it has in it now is advice for buying soakers. But it's VERY important advise that you should consider. And in making that new section, I had to change all of the other tip pages to have the navigation thing at the bottom include the new page. But it works and it flows now, so I don't mind the extra work.
The 2003 Sweepstakes is going well, and I've been getting some entries, but for a contest for a free soaker, it wasn't as many people as I expected. It's a lot less that I expected to be exact. I made it so ANYONE could enter, regardless of age and location. But location plays a big factor in how the thing will get to you and if you will be paying any money to help get it over to you. Read the Contest Rules to get more information about that topic.
And I changed the background music to a Gustav Holst song. Gustav Holst wrote some nice instrumental songs. The one playing is a March that I think sounds very elegant yet adds a stern "militaristic" spin to it to go with the Water Wars side of this site.

9:37AM EST: Since the last update I've been working on one thing.... the WATER WARS PRIZE GIVEAWAY 2003!! Click on "2003 SWEEPS" in the NavBar, or click here for the main page of the sweepstakes.
7:40AM EST: Alright, It's early in the morning, but I decided to be productive for a change and finally update the site. Actually, to correct myself, I have been updating. It's just that this News page has never even heard of it until right now when I'm logging it! In the news for today, Water Wars has just passed v. 3.4! And there's a new logo on the Main page to show for it! I went outside recently and filled up my newest soakers; XP 240 (2 of them). So I was just playing around and I wrote "Water Wars" on the pavement in my driveway. I got a camera and snapped a picture of it, and added some text around it. And voila!
Sunday, May 25, 2003
6:57PM EST: The background music for the site has changed to Drowning Pool - Bodies (Let the Bodies Hit The Floor). It sounds like a cool song to read stuff about water guns to.
Sunday, June 1, 2003
4:01PM EST: The Marquee (scrolling red thing on the Main page has been updated. I'm making it a monthly thing now. So on the first of each month, I'll update it to let everyone know what's going on.
Saturday, May 31, 2003
11:59PM EST: The Water Wars Monthly Newsletter for June has been sent, and on time ontop of that!
Sunday, May 25, 2003
6:57PM EST: I have added a link to AdAware to the Services section. AdAware is a program that recognizes popups and prevents them from being opened. That is ideal for a site like this with all these darn popups.
6:47PM EST: There was an error in the marquee. A link didn't come out as expected. It's fixed now.
6:41PM EST: Good news! I have reinstalled the background music! I programmed it to play as soon as you enter the site. So it will take a minute or three to load (depending on your connection speed) and then it'll play. I usually have a nice hard rock or punk song playing. But if you want to turn it off, press the "Stop" button in the green box in the NavBar. To turn it back on, press the "Start" button right next to it. The song is set to play until you either turn it off with the "Stop" button or until you leave the page, so it's not going to play one time through and then stop
I have removed the "Water Wars" title atop the main page. It was just "Water Wars" written out in white letters... it didn't really do anything for the look. Besides, right under it, I had a banner with the name on it anyway
Saturday, May 17, 2003
10:53PM EST: The Water Wars Newsletter for May has been sent. It's so late in the month and yet the newsletter is being sent (I generally send it on the first of the month) because of some problems with the Newsletter on my end that were waiting to be fixed but never were.
Friday, May 9, 2003
7:59PM EST: I've made a new Concept and it's called.... UQFD! In short, the UQFD is an UPDATED version of the current QFD. Click on "Concepts" in the NavBar for more.
Monday, May 5, 2003
10:59PM EST: I moved the "Outlaws" section into the middle section of the Main page.
Also, (I don't know what it means, but I have it written down saying I did it anyway) I seemed to have solved some sort of problem with "noframes." Maybe that means I can get rid of these frames quicker! Who knows!
Sunday, May 4, 2003
10:52AM EST: The table at the bottom of the Main page has been updated to accommodate Water Wars' latest acheivement... an image contest! At WaterWar.Net, I submitted an image for the "Famous Person" catagory. Anonymous voting took place for a week to find the best "Famous Person" picture, and mine won! It was only against one other person... but nevertheless, it's a prize. So go to the main page to view the award, and click on it to see the award-winning image
Saturday, May 3, 2003
4:27PM EST: The first annual Water Wars Site Contest has commenced! It's a couple days late but that makes no real difference. Check out the "2003 Contest" link in the navbar, or just click here
Thursday, May 1, 2003
9:55PM EST: The marquee on the main page (scrolling thing with red background) has been updated. Also, the marquee has been doubled to enclose the "middle" section of the main page. The "middle" section is now the section that goes between the marquees. The middle section has been updated to talk about the Newsletter dilemma. It used to be the "A special look back" thing.
9:27PM EST: New version, new look! v3.3 calls for a make-over. Check out that snazzy lookin' navbar's colors. Or should I say "color"
. The colors add a little "SHAZZAM!" to the page, and it also distinguishes groups of links. The Information Station, Weaponry section, and Interact section are all pretty much alike, with different themes. But since they are still remotely alike, they get the same color (yellow). The other ones are their own color, except for "Site Index" and "Aquaholics" links. And also, to accommodate this change, the "Interact" section has been moved up in the navbar to be with its brothers, "Information Station" and "Weaponry".
8:21PM EST: Copyright and Version # info has been added to the navbar. I think it's just necessary to have that kind of info available whenever viewing the site (unless of course you happen to be viewing it in the situations below). And actually....... I think it's time for VERSION 3.3! The updates I've been doing lately have been so significant, I think it's time to "kick it up a knotch" (forgive the Emiril pun). And as my first change of v3.3, I will edit the navbar and main page to read "3.3"! Hoorah!
7:50PM EST: The review pages have been updated to open up a new window when clicking the "Go to... Home" button in the links options at the bottom of each review page. The reason being, I notice that (though the help of my stats tracker) people enter on a lot of review page. That means that they click a link and go directly to the review page. Doing this means that there is no navbar (the bar, hopefully for you, to the left of this text with the column of links). And no navbar means that the site cannot be browsed as I made it to be browsed. To try to patch up the holes, I am trying to encourage review viewers to click the "Home" link and be presented with the layout of frames, to properly view the site. For the ones who are already viewing it with frames, I made it to open the link in a new window. This way, you will not get a frame within a frame, and have a double navbar. I can't really do much more than to protect the review pages, though I know that people enter on other, more random, pages, like this very page (the news) and other pages like that. People land here sometimes because they search for something on a search engine like "water gun" and it matches something I said in the news page. So the search engine forwards that person to the news page, no frames included, since the code to put the frames in is only in the index.html file - which is nowhere on the way from Search Engine to News Page. To sum it up, going through the front door allows you to see the site how I wanted you to see it. Going in the window, back door, side door, etc, results in bad viewing.
Sunday, April 27, 2003
3:38PM EST: The "Water Wars was last updated:" thing has been... updated, and is now a funky text box that writes in the time that it was last updated. And here's a cool little secret;
if you click on the text box, you get sent here to read the latest news of the time that you clicked on!! Stunning!
1:58PM EST: Smilies uploaded!
WOHOO!
1:32PM EST: The Site Index page has been updated. Before, it did not have the reviews for the CPS 1200, EES Turbine, and the Waterball SL 175
Also, for the Waterball SL 175 review, I was peeved by the main image there. So I took it into Photoshop and made the background black (as opposed to the previous white). It blends much better with the page this way
And for the Main page, the "Water Wars was last updated on:" thing was finally redone. Before, it just clocked the time anyone visited the page. Now, I will manually change it whenever I change something on the site
Last thing... I will be uploading small little smilies to my site, so I can use them here, and other places in the site. A smiling face, a winking one, a big grin, etc... Typing ";)" all the time is a hassle ;)
12:59PM EST: The Links page has been updated. Now that I feature Concepts, I need to add my site under the "Concepts" listing
Also, within the next couple hours I'll finish that Secret Strike review
Saturday, April 26, 2003
5:52PM EST: Oh screw it. Check out my arsenal here. This is the first web page created entirely in FrontPage!
5:12PM EST: Phew, I made it back just in time to keep at least one update per month. Hehe. What I did today was use my BRAND SPANKIN' NEW digital camera (2MP!!) to take some pictures of my new CPS 1200. I got two of them off of eBay last week. I love this new soaker. I wrote up a review and included some new features, like more stuff in the "Stats" section at the bottom of the review page, and an HTML code that automatically resizes the pictures to be a certain width. This way, they will NEVER make that annoying horizontle scroll bar. To read Water Wars' latest review, check out the CPS 1200 Review
I also plan on taking some pictures of the MAX-D Secret Strike tomorrow, to complete the unfinished review of it
Another thing, I had to go into the source of the Information Station file and transfer the HTML for the table (at the top of the page) into MS FrontPage so I can easily add the new row for the CPS 1200's review link to fit in. That meant that I hat to rearrange the other two columns to fit the rows. The last column looks funky, but as I add more stuff into it, it'll look more natural
And finally, I did an accurate count of my entire arsenal, and the results are in! Come back next Saturday to get a link to a complete list of my arsenal. The only thing preventing me from getting it up now is time! AHH!
Thursday, March 27, 2003
10:15PM EST: The Picture Gallery has been renovated. Now featuring... inline frames! Check out the Picture Gallery to see the cool new feature!
Monday, March 24, 2003
7:49PM EST: I just made a page for the Water Wars Monthly Newsletter to be housed in. You can find the link in the navbar, under the obvious name "NEWSLETTER." Maybe this will get more people to subscribe. I tried to make it as easy and blatent as possible. If you're just confused about it, send me an email with your name, email address (if different from the one you are sending it from), and preferred format.
7:04PM EST: The review for the Waterball SL 175 is complete. Or at least the skeleton is complete. I am yet to incorporate more detailed photographs of the 175, but this will do for now.
Sunday, March 23, 2003
6:32PM EST: The News pages have been reformatted. A chunk of the former bottom half of this page has been relocated to a new News Archives page. This makes a total of 4 news pages. Scroll to the bottom of each news page to use the News Navigation feature.
6:15PM EST: The main page has been updated to show that this is now version 3.2.
Also, more tracking scripts have been added to the mirror domain's pages. Wohoo
Friday, March 21, 2003
11:31PM EST: Well, today I did a lot of work on the pages. This called for another knotch in the tenth of a version! Yay! This is now Water Wars v 3.2!
What I actually did was go through all of the most important pages (about 40 of them) and add a little script at the bottom of the page that will track the visitors, and relay the information to a hub that tracks visitors. I will use this to see what the most popular page is, the most popular review, game, etc... It will be really cool to see the results.
Also, the main page has been updated in two places. The top has been updated to talk about the change of Aquatica boards. The new board can be found here. The other place was in the table at the bottom of the page. It was in the "Aquatica Forums" image. I had to change the link to point to the new board, and not the old one.
To be done: I will update the Aquatica page right after I'm finished writing this. I need to update the forum links, and also write up a little summary of the change of boards
Thursday, March 20, 2003
10:39AM EST: As described in the previous News update, I am receiving a Waterball, and... it has arrived! I got it yesterday, and I tested it out and sent my comments to the representatives. I will have a public review up within the week. Maybe even today, because I'm not feeling well, so I'm staying home from school, which means I have some time to work.
I got a "congratulations" letter (it doesn't actually say "congratulations," but rather something like a packing slip), but it serves the purpose of representing the free Waterball. I scanned it into my computer and is now available for viewing via the main page in the Awards section. Or if you're as impatient as I would be if I was in your shoes reading this, just follow this link. Gonzo Communications is good people :two thumbs up:
Friday, March 14, 2003
10:18PM EST: The review for the EES Turbine is now public.
As for the Secret Strike review, I'll need some more time. Tomorrow perhaps?
Tuesday, March 11, 2003
11:11PM EST: I've been meaning to add something to the Services section for a while now, and I finally got the JavaScript for it. It's an awesome conversion form that lets you chose from 5 different temperature types (Fahrenheit, Kelvin, etc...) and convert that one type into one of the other 4. Or, if you want to be a smart-ass, you can try to convert one type into itself ;) hehehe. It's designed to be easy to use, so I don't think extensive instructions are absolutely needed, but I put some there anyway.
Also, the fine people at "Gonzo Communications" chose me, representing Water Wars, and many other webmasters in the soaker-community to try out a free Waterball. I'll put up a review for it after my evaluation.
In other news, I bought an EES Turbine (2003 Super Soaker) and a MAX-D Secret Strike (also a 2003 soaker) from amazon.com. I am very happy with the performance of the Secret Strike (amazon.com for some reason calls it a "Blast Fire"), but I unfortunately can't say the same about the Turbine. I'll try to get my review for the Turbine public tomorrow, and also I'll try to get a review for the Secret Strike online at least.
And to conclude this News update, the Water Wars Newsletter for March 2003 has been sent a few days ago. Sign up ASAP to receive April's Newsletter (only if your subscription is made before April 1, I do not redistribute Newsletters -- I only make an exception for the Aquaholics).

1:00AM EST: I have come out of my cocoon for my winter hibernation, and I put together a v3.0 idea. It's a Random Facts thing. It's housed in the Information Station. It displays a randomized fact related to Super Soakers. I'm still working on getting more facts together

10:57PM EST: The newsletter for February has been sent! Please direct all comments on it to the Water Wars EZBoard.
ALSO, I bought two new 2003 soaker from amazon.com and I already got one of them, the EES Turbine. It's a weird gun. Check out its review here.

1:42PM EST: Water Wars is taking a little nap and will be dormant for the next week or two. I've got testing all this week, so I need to devote my time to studying and such. I just got rid of the background music script, as I believe it's been freezing my computer (don't ask why). So, sorry... no Powerman 5000 for the time being. I'll try to get a link to download it, if you're so in need of hearing that song. That is all

5:05PM EST: With the addition of a music box to the navbar, and basically all news from Jan 1, 2003 to now, I'm declaring today the day of v3.1!
3:21PM EST: A new tip has been added to the Offense section, and since it would also fall into the "Stealth" catagory, it has been added to the Stealth section.
Thursday, January 9, 2003
11:21PM EST: A VERY cool Flash quiz has been made to test all you know-it-alls to see if you really know Lonnie Johnson, inventor of the Super Soaker. It is located in the Interact section's Navbar (ontop). Or just go here.

7:33PM EST: Aquatica update taken off, because the Ikonboard is back up.
5:48PM EST: Vital information on the Aquatica Ikonboard's "down-ness" has been tracked down and posted in the Aquatica section of the site. It was an emergency repair that needed to be made to the system database, or something like that. The exact reply is in that section (Aquatica). The latest information regarding this will be tracked in the Aquatica section.

9:46PM EST: Please give a round of applause for Water Wars' newest member to the family, the Concepts section. Currently, there are two concepts listed in the section: The Pleasantville Project, and the Spring-Action, No-Pump Water Gun. Both are certainly something to look at. Also, the Concepts link has been put on the Navbar, and installed into the Site Index

9:44PM EST: New tip added to the Weaponry section, for the "Elimination Manager."
8:46PM EST: The CAD <-> USD conversion form has been moved from the main page to the Services page, as it is more of a service than something relevant to introducing or welcoming people to Water Wars, as they begin their journey throughout the site.
8:00AM EST: New tip added to the Training section.

4:32AM EST: Finished up the entire v3.0 update. After everything was in place, I went and reviewed it all, and then make corrections to any errors. Also note the time... Aye carumba
12:00AM EST: v3.0 HAS ARRIVED! And it seems to have disappeared too, because a swarm of visitors rushing the site all at once to see the update. And as a result of that, the site is temporarily down. I took care of the source of the problem, so that it would occur less times, but with this crummy Angelfire account, who knows when they'll strike next (the Bandwidth Demons). And also, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Have a safe, sober, and stupendous New Year

9:01PM EST: It... is.... coming... 3 HOURS AND COUNTING until the release of v3.0. It has everything but a steak dinner, 'cuz this update has it all... just about. Many will drop their jaw at the new update, while some may pass out. Just remember to have someone ready to dial 911 for loss of conciousness. This will be BIG. And it's all happening TONIGHT. Don't miss it, or else you'll be missing a lot... and I mean A LOT!

6:39PM EST: Oh yeah, I just got a NEW IN BOX CS 50 today. The box says it's the most powerful soaker ever made... HA, those 1990's people never saw the MXL, obviously.
6:06PM EST: ::Attention all shoppers, v3.0 will be available in 1 day, 5 hours, 53 minutes and 7 seconds:: Ahem... I'm proud to announce that I am COMPLETELY done with all of the necessary v3.0 preparation. Now, all I have to do is sit and wait for those 1 day, 5 hours, 53 minutes, and 7 seconds to pass, until I could actually make use of these preparations and broadcast them. I've got a lot in store that will make you wish something like v3.0 came around ever 3 days. But it can't, so you're just going to have to live with what it... SO ANYWAY... at the Water Wars EZBoard, I'm announcing some of the v3.0 goodies already. Like a monthly newsletter for example. BUT since not many people visit the EZBoard, there haven't been many subscribers, so that's why I've created this page, which is a subscription thing. If at any time you want to subscribe/unsubscribe, you'd just journey over to that page, and you can go from there. And by the way, there's no need to use weird names like "Thorgomon" in the "Name" field, your first name would do just fine, thanks. And a VALID email address is required. The email address you enter is the one that the newsletter will be sent to. Also, I have many different formats to send the newsletter to you in. I can offer .pdf, .rtf, .txt, .doc, or plain text. All formats except .txt and plain text have colors and pictures in it. This is much spiffier and funner to look at. My most recommended format to chose is .pdf, just so I can show off my new PDF making program. PS: if you want me to make you a PDF file, check out my PDF site called "PDF Pal" at http://angelfire.com/rnb/pdf. To sign up to receive one (or maybe even ALL) of these formats, see this thread at the Water Wars EZBoard. You must be registered there to be able to post. OR if you are too lazy to go to the forum, you can send me an email, and that would work just fine too. If you want, you can subscribe and request a format by sending me an email. Can it get ANY more accomidating? I think not. Have a happy, safe, and [insert joyous adjective here] New Year

3:27PM EST: If it was spring now, I'd call this "Spring Cleaning," but since it's winter... I'll have to go with "Winter Cleaning." So anyway, I managed to get a directory's file size down from 400-something kilobytes, to 100-something kilobytes! That's a lot of kilobytes! And overall, I shaved about 1 full megabyte off of the total file size of Water Wars! Alas! By the way, the directory that I just cleaned up was the one with the "Some Assembly Required" for the XP 220. See the new and improved file here. But everytime I add more news, that adds to the file size of the news.html file. So I guess this kinda backfires, but it doesn't come nearly as close to the full megabyte I got rid of, and gaining only about 1 or 2 kilobytes
3:10PM EST: This past hour has been dedicated to decreasing the general file size of Water Wars. As of now, it dropped by .4 MB! Wohoo. The excess kilobytes were shaved off of the Pictures section. I just cropped the pictures and now they are all down by about 20k each in file size, dropping the "Pictures" folder (the directory where I keep all of my pictures) down by about 200k! Wohoo again! So my next project will be trying to decrease file size for all pictures on Water Wars by cropping. Maybe I'll try decreasing the quality, but I don't really want to mess with that. This means less downtime for excessive bandwidth consumption! Wohoo for a third time!
2:21PM EST: DAAAAG, time flies when you're having fun... cough cough. I was just updating the site and all of a sudden, it's almost an hour after my last update! It seemed like 20 minutes ago, but obviously not. I added a new tip for Defense, and also for Choosing a Weapon. I also modified one of my v3.0 pages, but I guess no one cares because they can't even see it yet.
1:27PM EST: Hellloooooo. I hope everyone had a nice holliday. And I hope we all got some nice gifts. One thing I got that wasn't a gift, but rather I paid for it myself before Christmas, was a scanner. This thing works just as good as a digital camera, with the exception of taking far away shots. But I could still scan images of things thicker than a piece of paper. And I will be incorporating some of my documents that I scanned into my computer in Water Wars. That is what I have been preparing for the last couple days. I'm also a satisfactory cartoonist (better at computer art, but hey, drawing paper is no different). So I'll try and make a special v3.0 cartoon for everyone. But I will make no promises that it will look good, or that I will even like it enough to put it on the web (my standards are low for this anyway). I work at a TV station (local, nothing big... public access, what can I say), and I work with a program called Adobe Premiere. I pretty much know just about everything about this program, and I plan to incorporate my Premiere skills with Water Wars. I want to make some sort of "commercial" for Water Wars. I attempted this in the past, and it died, because I couldn't find a way to upload it to anywhere, because the file was too big. BUT I now have a CD burner, and A LOT of blank CDs, so... I could find some way to SEND the CD to you guys. It may sound a little strange, but I'll give it a try and see if it works. But I cannot support this financially if many people request the movie. So maybe I'll charge the shipping fee to send the CD, but nothing more. I'm trying to spread interest in Water Wars, not make money. But enough of this extensive news post, back to work on v3.0!

3:32PM EST: Water Wars Marquee updated. I really hope people actually read that thing :p
Saturday, December 14, 2002
11:42AM EST: Sorry about the lack of updates (as if you haven't heard that enough). I've actually been pretty darn active with Water Wars, but nothing that you could see. It's (you guessed it) v3.0 stuff. I'm revising my plans, getting the information together, and I am thinking up new ideas every time I work on something related to Water Wars. I just got two more soakers added to my arsenal today; two CS 50's. I haven't shot one of these things in years. I am hooked... again. I sold my two CS 50's a few years ago at a tag sale, and now I have them (different guns, same model) back. They're now perched on my shelf next to my CPS 2000 and my CPS 4100...

4:15AM EST: This isn't really a news update, but rather a time to boast. No, the time isn't wrong... it is really 4:15 in the morning now... I've been awake for 16 hours now. I'm not trying to set a record or anything, I've just got tons of stuff to do. This is about the same time I went to sleep last night. Oh, I just added a new soaker to my collection two days ago: the CPS 3000. That gun is so cool. I haven't tested it yet, mostly because it's below freezing all the time, and also because my hose is disconnected and in my garage... oh well. I'll try to find a way to test it, but for now, I'm just going to have to stick with pretending to be on a secret mission with an ammo pack strapped to my back... woohooo....... wow, it's 4:20 now... I take long to write one measley paragraph...

2:35PM EST: Happy Thanksgiving. As you probably have noticed, I changed the index.html file to be a Thanksgiving "greeting". That's just my way of spreading holliday sprit. Enjoy the turkey. Mmmmm...

9:09PM EST: Some Assembly Required has been updated for the MAX-D 3000. There's even a 4 second 433K .avi that you can download of the weapon firing, at a close angle, without the shell on. It's a really nice shot, I'm proud of myself on that one. So this is officially Water Wars' FIRST movie EVER shown... very cool
12:30PM EST: At the Submissions page, I added a little link-line at the bottom of the page, to make it easy for you guys to submit something, in a way so that you can go directly to the spot you want, based on what you want to submit
12:12PM EST: New squad has been submitted by sploosh92 from the Submit-a-Squad forum, at the Water Wars message-board, for his squad; "Team Waterfire". See the Submissions page to view his squad
