Raw houes show results, April 24, 2004
Hey. Just wanted to let you know about the house show results from the RAW brand in St. Paul last night.

The Coach comes out and says Howard Finkel isn't here and can't do his job anyways, so he will be the host for the night. Show started with La Resistance interupting the National Anthem. They started talking and Hurricane and Rosey interupted them.
Match 1 - La Resistance vs. Rosey and The Hurricane
This was actually a pretty exciting match up. It had you usual spots. Helms and Rosey won with the Samoan Drop/Neckbreaker combo.

The Coach was in the ring talking about Tajiri not showing up because he was afraid of Coach. As Coach was talking, Tajiri snuck down to the ring, and started kicking the crap out of him. Garrison Cade came down and laid out Tajiri.

Match 2 - Batista vs. Rhyno
This was a scheduled match, but for whatever reason Batista "challenged" anybody in the back. Rhyno came out and got smoked. Rhyno had very little offense. Batista won with his spinebuster.

After the match, Coach introduced Raw General Manager Eric Bischoff. Typical crap saying Raw is better than SmackDown and it always will be (well duh! Vince loves RAW). He also says due to the broken hand, Edge will not be participating in his scheduled match against Kane. Matt Hardy (who was scheduled to face A-Train) will be taking Edge's place against Kane.

Match 3 - Gail Kim and Molly Holly vs. Lita and Victoria
Lita and Victoria wins after Lita rips off Molly's wig and she basically runs away. Lita pins Gail with a DDT. Lita wore Molly's wig around for a bit and they made fun of her. Pretty entertaining.

Match 4 - Val Venis vs. A-Train
Val wins with the Money Shot. Exactly the match you would expect. Nothing special even though Val wrestled the first few minutes of the match with his towel still tucked into the front of his tights.

Match 5 - Chris Jericho vs. Christian w/ Tyson Tomko
Tomko got ejected form ringside when he tripped Jericho. Bischoff came out and said the ref may be able to eject Tomko, but he can still make it a No DQ match. This was actually kind of boring so I went to the concession stand and restroom at this time. Jericho won with the Walls of Jericho. He got laid out after the match by Christian and Tomko.

The t-shirt guy came out. Eugene then came out to possibly the biggest pop of the night. Basically saw the same thing as RAW but instead of Regal getting shot in the balls, the t-shirt guy got it. As Eugene and Regal were leaving, Eugene picked up Fit Finlay in an airplane spin, then just set him down. Finlay was laughing his ass off.

INTERMISSION

Match 6 - Matt Hardy vs. Kane
Basic match. Kane wins with the chokeslam. He started to beat on Hardy after the match. Lita came out. She was going for the Lita-canrana, but Kane grabbed her by the throat. Bischoff came out telling Kane not to chokeslam a woman that has had neck surgery even. Kane should Tombstone the skank. Kane picks her up for the Tombstone, when Edge comes through the crowd for the save. Edge speared Kane. Then Matt pushed Bischoff into Edge who speared him too. He almost speared Bischoff right into Matt. Hardy had to jump up on the ropes in the corner so Edge didn't spear Bischoff into him. Pretty cool.

Match 7 - Intercontinental Championship - Shelton Benjamin vs. Randy Orton
Benjamin was announced as being from the University of Minnesota. A lot of boring chants during this match. Nothing really noteworthy. Orton wins with a roll up.

Match 8 - World Heavyweight Championship - Triple H vs. Chris Benoit
Triple H was getting on a kid ringside for wearing a Benoit t-shirt. Benoit went out and raised the kid's hand to a huge pop. Good match. Batista and Orton came out trying to help HHH. Benoit smashed the belt into Batista and Orton's heads then made Triple H tap to the Crossface. Evolution minus Flair beat down Benoit until Hurricane and Rosey came out to help. They got beat up by Evolution. Val Venis and Rhyno came out to help. They got beat down. Finally Benjamin and Edge came out. Then all the faces cleared the ring of Evolution. Rosey and Val then raised Benoit on the shoulders as the faces celebrated.

Match of the night was the main event, followed by La Resistance against Hurricane and Rosey.

Biggest pops:
1. Edge saving Lita
2. Benoit making Triple H tap
3. Eugene
4. Lita and Victoria making fun of Molly
5. Benoit raising the hand of the kid in the front row

Most heat:
1. La Resistance interupting the National Anthem
2. Triple H picking on the kid in the front row
3. Christian
4. Bischoff telling Kane to Tombstone Lita
5. The Coach

The two hometown people, Shelton Benjamin and Molly Holly, didn't get that great of reactions. Molly did get a small "Molly" chant. The house was about half full. Hurricane got a pretty good pop. Triple H got a decent pop, but just as much heat.

Kevin Nash and Goldberg back on RAW
As of 2:00 PM CST, both Kevin Nash and Goldberg are set to be on RAW tonight. I would not at all be surprised if Nash's return was held off as it could minimize the importance of Goldberg, but if he does show up as planned, he's expected to be in the Michaels-Jericho program.

Eugene Pursues His Dream
In the tradition of some of the most endearing characters of some of the greatest movies ever made: Forrest Gump, I Am Sam, Radio, WWE has introduced a new character, Eugene Dinsmore. Eugene is a person with a mental disability. WWE intends to portray this character in a realistic fashion. Eugene is a benevolent, loving, enthusiastic character who will successfully overcome the odds and achieve his dream of becoming a WWE Superstar.

As many of you already know, WWE have cancelled Confidential and replaced it with a new show, which will air on Sunday mornings. The change was finalised after WWE officials agreed that they wanted to move away from shows based on ?insider revelations? which is what Confidential?s main focus was based on. It was also known that they were suffering from a lack of new ideas for the show.
Due to the contractual requirements with Spike, the WWE had to fulfil a minimum number of programming slots, thus the reason for the news magazine-style program featuring both brands on Sunday mornings. There are also plans to move Velocity to Saturdays at 7pm, with Heat remaining at 7pm on Sundays.
