my Name is Rommel Balza from the Philippines, and I am a Physically Challenged person.

I am only seventh month old on my mother's womb when she delivered me. I was born with inborn Disabilities,i had a deform right foot, Doctors called it as Clubfoot and a Spina Bifida I had my first operation when I was only 18 months old due to my spina bifida(mylomeningocele).

They said that the doctors then had to take the mass out of my spinal before it get worse and; because the mass of liquid inside has grown as big as my head and the spinal fluid coming from my spine has reached my head and much more problem and complications could happen, before it might turn to be a hydrocephalus if they don't do something, that time before I undergo an operation.and at my young age 18 months I was considered to be in critical condition and the doctors had my mother signed a waiver.

The operation turn out to be successful, the only effect that up to now I'm bearing is I had lost my control in my urination (urinary incontinence) that up to now I could not control.

(most people born with spina bifida could not stand and walk, i'm lucky that my mobility is not affected)

I had my second operation when I was about 7 or 8 yr. old; an orthopedic doctor corrected my left clubfoot.

They though that after the surgeries that I had,I could grow normal like any other kid, like they want me to be, but unfortunately out of my misfortune things happen the way we never expected to be. Its s just a beginning,,

My misery all started when I had my disability due to an accident;

  I was only 10 yr. Old I was in my 4th grade when our school had a field trip. We had a lot of walking and I didn't notice that I had stepped on a rusty shoe nail.   And I thought that the pain I'm feeling on the sole of my foot was just pain due to a long walking or calluses.

Which I really taken for granted, until that afternoon I'm already suffering with high fever while I'm still on the bus, no one knows then whas really happening to me, my teacher just gave me an aspirin to lower my fever.

When I got home my mother rush me to the hospital, that's when then the doctors notice that my left foot has swollen, as they examined, they said that I had a tetanus infection, due to the rusty nail found on my shoe; the doctors told my mom that I was lucky that I was brought to the hospital before its too late.   That's how I got my wound on my left foot. At first the doctors, gave me some medications for several months,though nothing happens. That's when my doctor had decided to close the wound and have me undergo operation.

After few months the operation didn't turn out well (the operation was unsuccessful) the wound had opened and it took several year again before I had my second operation again to close the wound on my left foot.

(I was in my 6th grade when I had the second operation) That's when my doctor did something wrong, he did something that resulted my left foot look deformed) he cut a few inch of bone off my left lower part of my foot, that's when my life being a physically challenged got worst that I could never imagine. I turn out to be more crippled than i used to be, my mobility got worse than before.

I don't know if it's repairable, I turn out to be crippled, I could no longer balance my weight.   I had to wear braces and use crutches as an aide whenever I walked.

I had an open wound for about 8 years. 8 long years of medications,   the only last operation done to my left foot turn out to be successful though the consequences that I had was my left foot look more worst and deformed.

All mother's earnings were used to support me, my medications until nothing has left.

She died 10 days after my surgery.   (she dream't that someday I could walk normal likeAny other kids) she had no regret, spending all the money she earned for my health and welfare)

From the day I was born all she wanted to see me in good health and walk normal, that's how I dreamt for myself and for her.

The second problem that I had is that I had muscular maximus ulcers on my left and right buttocks.

I had it from the time when mount Pinatubo Vulcano erupted that was year 1991, first it all started from a small boil I had it for several months I was afraid to tell my mom that I had a boil, I don't want to add more problems about my health conditions, I was wrong, my weight started to loose and I get frequent high fever and I could no longer sat, when my boil pop up that's when I was rush to the hospital that s when they knew that I had a boil as big as the circle of a cup, my mother was terrified when she had seen how big and deep the hole that the boil has made, they said that you could almost see the pelvic bone.

I had continues medication for several years, when doctors told us that there has been improvement the tissue has generated new cells they could try to close it, that's when they had me undergo surgery, they tried to close it but there are still some open wounds on my buttocks, they said that its because it's a fistula.

Fistula-in-ano.which I ask for help,The third problem that I have is about my right foot I had an ulcer on the sole of my foot, I had it for about 2 yr. now, just like the one I had before on my left foot.

I still suffer from my fistula on my buttocks and I have problems on my hip and pelvic bone, which concerns me a lot, especially when I feel the pain.

I was also diagnosed to have (subluxation of lower hip joint), The doctors advice me to undergo a hip replacement surgery, which we could not afford to have me undergo operation.

I no longer take any medications, I only cleanse my wound(fistula) with betadine solution.

That's why I use the power of internet to seek and ask for medical assistance, hoping that someone will help me about my medical problem.
