I am not quite sure what is the reason for start getting involved with lighthouses. Perhaps it is the imposing idea of being in the middle of nowhere, or at the edge of land that little would approach, or even being in the eye of a storm standing still and brave against time. 

Whatever the reason may be, the purpose of being there perfectly functioning, the architecture and the variety of techniques, the history behind them and most of all the sacrifice for so little in return, the unspoken vow for being loyal, the loneliness rewarded by the proudness of being there to serve the world lights!
