Earth

The earth is our home. From where we are, on the surface of the earth , the earth appears flat. But the is actually shaped like a sphere. On its surface, there is land and water.  Surrounding the earth is a layer of gases that we call the atmosphere . The atmosphere provides oxygen for living things and carbon dioxide for plants to carry out photosynthesis. The atmosphere also blocks harmful rays of the sun from reaching the Earth . It keeps the Earth warm by preventing heat from escaping into space.

We usually see the sun in the day and moon and stars at night. The sun and moon appear to be travelling round the Earth . However, it is only the moon that moves round the Earth .The sun and the stars do not. In fact, it is the Earth
