THE EIFFEL TOWER
The Eiffel tower is a large structure built in 1889 by sevral workers. The tower has three floors in all. It is very nice to look at it knowing that it was built by humans and not machines. The Eiffel Tower is built in a triangular shape. The transportation device used to get up and down is called an elevator. To build this huge structure, 18,038 pieces of metal were used. They also used 2,500,000 rivets. A rivet is a metal pin that is placed into a drilled hole and it locks on both sides.
The Eiffel Tower is located in the capital of France, which is Paris. It is situated near the Seine river, at the northwestern extreme of the Parc du Champ de Mars. It is the tallest structure built in France and the builders built it right in the middle of their country to show their pride. A lot of people visit the Eiffel Tower from different countries of the world. Millions of people visit every year.
