What Is It?

Beta Sigma Phi is an international women's friendship network. It also provides educational programs to its members and opportunities for service to others. We are women of all ages, interests, and educational and economic backgrounds, and are the largest organization of our kind in the world.

A Brief History

Beta Sigma Phi was formed in 1931 during the Great Depression. There was a need at that time for an organization where women could gather together while being exposed to a social, cultural and educational environment.

The original members worked together to raise $22 million to help towards war bonds during World War II. When the war ended membership in Beta Sigma Phi doubled.

Because of the strong bonds built by members in each chapter, Beta Sigma Phi is known as "The Friendship Organization." Since then, this non-academic sorority has grown to over 200,000 members around the world! Friendship and sisterhood can be found as close as your neighbor or as far as France, Germany, Canada or Australia. Sisters are everywhere!

Getting Started

With your membership you will receive a monthly magazine called "The Torch", a membership card and all of the benefits due to you as a member. But the gift of sisterhood is definitely the greatest benefit of membership.
