General Orders Explained
This one explains itself. Trust your squad leader. Do your best to follow his or her orders.
Make sure you keep an eye on the chat window. Its very important to be aware of what the leader and other members are communicating. When you are given an order, or message always respond with at least "Roger" or "Negative" so it is clear that you received the message.
If the squad leader gives an order you feel you can't follow, for instance, if all are requested to head to a certain point but you can't get there because of distance or obstacle, let the squad leader know the situation. Don't just ignore the order. If you can't comply the Squad leader may have another order for you.
For instance, When asked what certificates are present in the squad, quickly respond with what you can do ( i.e. Com. Eng/med assault/Mag. driver ). If someone asks if there is action at a location you are at, make sure you give that info. This General order also means you shouldn't wait to be asked such info, if you feel it's something the squad should know, go ahead and share. Also be sure to always announce when you're going to be away from keyboard by typing "AFK", and for how long ( i.e. AFK - 5 mins )
For instance, If you see enemy MAX units slip in the back door if a base that is being hacked, give the soldiers inside a heads up ASAP! This is very important as not having such info can mean the difference between protecting a hack and losing it. On the other hand you don't need to share every bit of info. Ask yourself, "Could this info be useful to the squad?" If not really, then don't clog up the chat window. ( example: In the middle of a fire-fight, don't describe every kill you make, or how you are almost to BR 8 ect...)
When multiple people are all trying to be the boss things get confusing and disorganized. If you are not the actual squad leader do not phrase anything as a command. Instead, use phrases such as, "Leader, should some of us move on to..... ?" or, "We could use more people defending the Control room please." If you feel something is really urgent tell the squad leader and have him or her give the order.
Have fun. Basically if you are not following this one you're doing something wrong. If Planetside starts driving you crazy take five and go watch T.V. or something.
