Dig Site Walkthrough

First you go to the exam center and talk to the examiner. She will give you a letter you need to get stamped but the curator of Varrok museum. Go there and get the stamp, and bring it back to her. She will then allow you to take the test. No matter how many times you take the test you won't get a 100% until you ask the dig-site students for the answers. Go to the actual dig site and talk to all the students. The one student (the one in the green) will ask for a rock sample and he says he has no idea where he lost it. This is the hardest one and will be dealt with later. The girl student also wants her rock sample and she says she thought he lost it near the pottery place. Well, guess what... she didn't. Go to the tents right next to the panning place and go to the top of the ramp there. There are a number of bushes up here, search them all until you get the rock. Bring it back to her for the answer. The last student (the one in the orange shirt) will, once again, ask for a rock sample. His rock sample is in the stream. Only way to get it is to pan for it. BUT, you can't pan... yet. You will get stopped by the panning guide saying you are not allowed here but he will let you pan if you get him a cup of tea. The tea is located at the Blue Moon Inn in Varrok. I'm not sure exactly where, but its there somewhere you might need to ask the bartender. After you get the tea, go back to the guide and give it to him. He will let you pan now. Grab a pan (on a table in one of the tents there), and start panning. You might get a few other welcomed surprises while looking for this rock. Once you have the rock, give it to the student and get the answer to the test. This last one is such a pain. You need Thieving level 25 to start off, so if you don't have that, just stop, leave and level up first. After you're level 25, go steal from a dig site worker. (I would bring plenty of food because if you are caught, you get hit... hard.) It might take a long time to get the rock, but once you get it, give it to the student in the green and get the answer. Now go take the test. Get all the questions right and get a trowel and a certificate. Go ask the students for the next set of answers. The girl asks for an opal (may be uncut) in exchange for the answer on the 3rd and last test. Just pan for an opal and give it to her. You can also dig for one. Once you get all 3 tests over and done, start digging in the level 3 site until you find a talisman (or anything that is emphasized by giving you a small banner in the text box saying you found it.) Give it to the archeologist expert in the exam centre and he will give you a letter of recommendation which you need to operate the winch.
