We were planning on turbo-ing his car, 1992 Olds Cutless Supreme, but he ended up buying a 1990 Turbo Grand Prix. I have yet to return the favor.
We started by disconnecting everything from the engine: the exhaust, intake, wiring harness, air conditioning unit, radiator hose, etc etc.
This was all done at around 11:00 PM, the police even came, thinking we were hijacking someone's van.
The day after that, we got the engine out. It sure wasn't easy. (Prior to this, Tony and I have both changed our oil...nothing this intense). After we got the engine out, we realized that it probably would have been easier to pull the transmission with it. What a pain that was.
We used a forklift that my dad has for his carpet store. It worked marvelously for our project.
the beast itself
We used straps that another friend had.
almost there!

Thank you to all those who helped out that night. From left to right: Pete, Derek, Tony, and Justin. page one!
