Hi, my name is Amber MoonSinger. Many of you may know me as skie_dancing,
shara_trovere, or just Amber.
I am currently trying to adjust to Nebraska. It is very difficult to live in a small, redneck town for 15 years then move to this metropolis for lack of a better word. This place is huge. Three malls, 15 consignment and thrift shops, 4 tattoo parlors, four art and fashion galleries, 5 community colleges and the state university and that doesn't even cover half a dozen blocks! This place is huge! Hopefully, I'll be getting a camara soon and I'll be able to show you pics of my new home.
On a more personal note, if you have ever tried to find a religion that suits you, you can understand how hard it can be. I tried Christinanity for about 15 years and something just didn't ring true. So for about 3 years I walked without a God.
Then about 2 years ago, I found Wicca. Their doctorn of 'Harm None' clicked like you wouldn't believe. Their underlying philosophies of Revere and Respect the Universe about you, and the process of self evolution using White Magick played a wonderful harmony. It's like all the music in my life has come to a glorious climax. I'm sorry if this sounds preachy to some of you, but I had to share this with someone.
Anyway, back to the lighter topics.
What are my likes and dislikes? Well I live for music. When people ask me why I get up in the morning, it's so I can hear the brids singing outside my window. Also So I can turn on my radio and hear whatever song the dj feels like playing. I also like to write my own music, the problem is it's so complicated, I can't play it half of the time.
I love to read science fiction and fantasy. Anne McCaffrey and Terry Brooks are my favorite authors. David Eddings runs in a very close second. I'm just waiting for him to put out another series. (I'm hoping it's more Belgarion Stories.)
I also write short stories and poetry.
I don't like people who think they are better than everyone else because their parents have a higher income. Call it the result of hanging with egotistical, arrogant people. I've grown out of it though. I hope.
When I'm not studying, meditating, helping out friends, or working, I like spending alot of time on the web. When I'm not at: Fantasy Gathering, a yahoo club dedicated to RolePlaying, or in my Club, Inn of the Three Moons, I'm right here trying to make this site more exciting for my readers.
Fantasy Gathering, and the Inn, are great places to meet people, get help in working out personal problems, or just to hang out. I'd look into both of them.
If you're a poet and would like to have some feed back on your work, my suggestion is the Interactive Poetry Pages. Here is a place where poets from all over the world come to share their poetic ideas. I've been in and out for at least three years. I have enjoyed it.
My latest litirary endeavor, The Winds of Chaos is a fantasy fiction piece. It is about a group of teens who are transported to a parallel world where they learn the lessons of growing up. I've been working on it off and on for the last several years. I apologize for not posting Chapter Five. I've been so busy packing I haven't had a chance to proofread it yet. Please forgive me. Though as a consolation to my readers, Chapter Six is also ready so that will be posted as well.
