Lancer Class Heavy Assault Frigate

(Note: this frigate was made from a collaberation of me, Beau Finley, and Warren Davis.) Year of Development: 2041

Primary Purpose: Assault/anti-mecha

Secondary Purpose: Frontline Support

The Lancer Class Assault Frigate was designed by the REF in 2039 in the ship yards over Tirol.

It was originally designed for a true anti-mecha frigate armed with over 20 tri laser turrets covering the entire ship making it almost impossible for anything to get withing 2,000 ft. for more than a few seconds without getting blown to pieces.

The weaponry of this ship also makes it a topline strafing and assault vehicle, the REF did not overlook this and as soon as full production of the Frigate begane it was immediatly put in at the frontlines for heavy support.

Crew: 200; 20 bridge officers, 40 engineers, 50 weapon operators, 90 for various ship duties.

Troops: 20 veritech pilots, 15 destroid, 35 cyclone riders, and 30 of various o.c.c.'s.

Length: 800 ft.

Height: 200 ft.

Width: 250 ft.

Weight: 30,000 tons

TopSpeed: mach 13 in atmosphere, mach 15 in space

Sublight: .16 the speed of light.

Fold: 1 light year every 8 minutes

*Destroying the back half of the ship destroys all four engines, 2 LRM launchers, 10 tri-turrets, 2 docking bays, and 10 guidance thrusters. Destroying the front half destroys the Bridge, 10 guidance thrusters, 1 Docking Bay, 6 LRM launchers, 10 Tri-turrets, and all three Ion Cannons

**Destroying 1 engine decreases speed by 1/4 making it impossible for sublight travel.

***Destroying the Bridge automatically kills the bridge crew, knocks out laser communications, reduces long range comm. and radar by 1/2, however there is a back up bridge inside the ship.

****The Ion Cannons are in the main body with only the tip of the barrel being out of the ship, this should be considered hard to hit and requires a called shot at -3 to hit.

WEAPON SYSTEMS:

1: 20 TRI LASER TURRETS-- scattered across the ship. They are capable of high rates of fire and 360 degree rotation.

Primary Purpose: Assault

Secondary Purpose: Anti-Mecha/Aircraft

Damage: 3D6X10 per triple blast.

Number of Attacks per melee: 6

Payload: Unlimited.

2: 3 HEAVY ION CANNONS-- placed in the front of the ship. They are powerful weapons and can do some serious damage.

Primary Purpose: Assault

Secondary Purpose: Anti-Warship

Range: 5000 miles

Damage: 5D6X10 MDC per cannon

Rate of Fire: Once every melee

Rate of Fire: Unlimited

3: 8 LONG RANGE MISSILE LAUNCHERS-- scattered across the ship. Damage and Range vary on missile type. Each launcher carries 24 missiles.

5. MEDIUM DEFLECTOR SHIELD-- The Medium Deflector shield is a new, more powerful design of the Light Deflector used on the Miranda Class Light Attack Cruiser. It was designed to complement the Lancers Medium armour in a firefight. It is a little stronger then the Valiant Class Medium Assault Cruiser shield and thus can take more damage. It regenerates to full M.D.C. every 5 seconds. Thus if the shield took 500 M.D.C., it is restored to full 3,000 M.D.C. 4 seconds later. If completely destroyed, the shield will rematerialize in 1 melee, an unfortunate bug.

Primary Purpose: Defense. The Deflector shield cannot be used as a weapon.

Range: 100ft from the vessel. Completely surrounds the ship.

Mega-Damage: Inflicts none, but can sustain 3000 mega-damage every 4 seconds. If nessicary, extra power can be diverted to the shield, providing up to 3750 M.D.C. protection. HOWEVER, if the shields M.D.C. is raised over 3400 M.D.C., the 1/4 of the ships weapons cannot fire, this includes the main cannon, because 1) The extra power of the shield stops objects on both sides of it, and 2) There's to big of an energy drain to fire any weapons. Under 3400 M.D.C. the weapons can fire. The Shield allows Energy weapons and Missiles OUT of the Field, but not inside.

Payload: Nearly inexhaustible.
