Greyhound

smile to the sky
as you wait for the Greyhound,
my face a mirage
haunting heavy heart

envision me nude
before you:
a modern mix of shattered dreams
and duct-taped memories,
golden halo hovering
three inches
'bove my hair...
wings broken,
still fluttering
in hope of flight

think of me...
when the air is thick with the scent
of rain and the earth aches in anticipation
of relief, breathe a whisper
to the wind
and i will hear
your love
