COMI 1100 - Introduction to Computers      3 credits    GRADE__A
    The Computer Literacy course provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles of computers and information processing. Students will be introduced to the operation and terminology of computer systems as well as certain microcomputer application packages such as word processing, spreadsheets, and database systems. Lecture: 3 hours         Lab: 1 hour

COMI 1150 _ Programming Concepts      3 credits    GRADE__A
    This course introduces the important concepts and skills necessary to write common business programs. Emphasis throughout is on structured programming techniques and top-down design. Lecture: 3 hours Lab: 1 hour

COMI 1210_ Programming in BASIC      1 Credit    GRADE__A
    This module of the computer literacy course provides students with an introductory course in writing programs using the BASIC language. Lecture: 3 hours Lab: 1 hour

COMI-1240 _ Object-Oriented Programming( VB )      3 credits     GRADE__A
     This course introduces the students to the fundamentals of designing and coding object-oriented programs. Basic topics such as object classes, class inheritance, friend functions, and function overloading will be discussed. Students will write programs using one of the object-oriented languages. (Prerequisite: Six credits in programming languages or permission of the instructor) Lecture: 3 hours Lab: 1 hour

COMI-1415 _ Microcomputer Operating System      1 credits     GRADE__B
     This module is designed to familiarize the student with operating system commands for the microcomputer. The student will be exposed to statements which will enhance their computer operational abilities.

COMI 1420 _ Spreadsheets      1 Credit      GRADE__A
     The purpose of the course is to introduce the operational procedures for spreadsheet software packages which utilize microcomputer systems. Students will construct and manipulate data files to produce clear and concise reports. Lecture: 2 hours Lab: 2 hours

COMI 1430 _ Introductory to Database Software      1 Credit      GRADE__A
     This course will introduce students to different methods of organizing and accessing computer files as well as covering data base design and management. Lecture: 2 hours Lab: 2 hours

COMI 1440 _ Automated Charts and Graphs      1 Credit      GRADE__A
    This course focuses on the use of microcomputer software that incorporates presentation as well as analytical graphics. Students will create informative report documents and visual presentations using charts, graphs, and/or pictures. Lecture: 2 hours Lab: 2 hours

COMI 1450 _ WINDOWS Operating System      3 Credit      GRADE__A
    This course is designed to familiarize the student with the graphical user operating environment. Basic and advanced functions of WINDOWS will be demonstrated. The student will do laboratory assignments to utilize the basic operating functions of WINDOWS such as file handling, fonts, graphics, icons, OLE, SOUND, and MULTI-MEDIA. Lecture: 3 hours Lab: 1 hour

COMI 1451 _ Introduction to WINDOWS      1 Credit      GRADE__A
    This module is designed to familiarize the student with the graphical user operating environment. Basic functions of WINDOWS will be demonstrated. The student will do laboratory assignments to utilize the basic operating functions of WINDOWS such as file handling, fonts, graphics, icons, and Screen Control. Lecture: 3 hours Lab: 1 hour

    This module will introduce the student to the beginning word processing skills of creating, editing, and printing of short documents. (Course may be taken twice for Credit.) Lecture: 3 hours Lab: 1 hour

    Different methods of organizing and accessing computer files is introduced with an in-depth coverage of data base design and management. Teleprocessing concepts are reviewed and ACCESS is used for instructional purposes. (Prerequisite: COMI-1100 and COMP-1360) Lecture: 3 hours Lab: 1 hour

COMP 1230 _ Systems Analysis and Design      4 Credits      GRADE__A
    An introduction to the concepts, methodology, and techniques used in business-systems analysis and the design of computerized business systems. The project-team approach is used to solve a case study. (Prerequisite: In final semester or with permission of instructor) Lecture: 3 hours Lab: 2 hours

    An introduction to the language ANS COBOL. Basic topics such as structured coding, editing and control breaks will be covered using card and sequential disk files. Lecture: 2 hours Lab: 2 hours

COMP 2430 _ Operating Systems ( Honors Program )      4.5 Credits      GRADE__A
    The structure and components of operating systems. Topics include controlling system resources, interface concepts, multiprogramming, networks and command language techniques of current operating systems. Laboratory assignments provide the application of these principles. (Prerequisite: COMP-1200 or COMP-2410) Lecture: 3 hours Lab: 2 hours

ACCT 1010_ Financial Accounting      4 Credits      GRADE__A
    A presentation of the objectives and basic procedures of accounting for business entities emphasizing the corporation. Topics covered include the accounting cycle for service and merchandising firms, accounting for short-term liquid assets, inventories, long-term assets, and current and long-term liabilities. Lecture: 5 hours

ECON 2010_ Principles of Economics I      3 Credits      GRADE__B
    An introduction to the fundamental principles, problems and policies of the American economic system. Major emphasis is on the institutions of the economy, supply-demand analysis, national income theory, monetary and fiscal policy and growth analysis. Lecture: 3 hours

ELEC 1000_ Introductory Computer Repair     3 Credits      GRADE__A
    This course is a basic course in personal computer diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques. Areas of focus will be on the IBM, IBM compatibles and Apple systems. Lecture 2 hours Lab: 2 hours

ENGL 2100_ Technical Writing      3 Credits      GRADE__A
       This basic course in technical writing examines letters, memoranda, and different types of reports. Investigation and research ( library and natural sources ) are covered, as is how to give credit to sources. The main goal is to be constantly aware of the purpose and reader, therefore being complete, concise, clear, credible, and objective. Lecture 3 hours

ENGL 2100_ The Law of Property, Estates and Trusts     3 Credits      GRADE__A
       A study of the law of real and personal property with emphasis upon rights to chattels, gifts, bailments, estates, easements, adverse possession, deeds, leases, licenses, mortgages, wills and inheritance. Various types of trusts and their implications will be discussed. Lecture:3 hours

MATH 1200_ College Algebra    3 Credits      GRADE__A
       Designed for students who plan eventually to study quantitative business analysis or calculus, this course covers functions and graphs; systems of equations and inequalities; quadratic equations; polynomial and rational expressions; radical, exponential, and logarithmic forms. Lecture: 4 hours

MATH 1670_ Quantitative Business Analysis I    3 Credits      GRADE__B
       The purpose of this course is to develop the quantitative methods needed to solve various problems in business and economics. Topics include functions and graphs, systems of linear equations, linear programming, matrices and determinants, logarithmic and exponential functions, and the mathematics of finance.        Differential and integral calculus are developed with special emphasis on practical applications to business and economics. Lecture: 3 hours

       A survey of the core areas of the science of psychology. Emphasis is placed on theories, methods, and findings concerning learning, motivation, physiology, sensation-perception, social behavior, personality, behavior disorders and therapies. Lecture: 3 hours

       This one-semester basic course in speech is designed to develop each student's ability to communicate effectively in his of her academic, business, and social life. The major emphasis is on the preparation and delivery of formal speeches, but many areas of the communication process are explored. Lecture: 3 hours
