Tugela lives with his family in the beautiful Myall Lakes area, on the Mid North Coast (NSW)

I would like to thank Ken for passing on the great shots of life with Tugela.

I received this very sad news recently (19.10.11) and I thought it was a most beautiful tribute to a very special family companion "Tugela", which I would like to share.

As a breeder I believe this is what it is all about as Ken states...enriching someones lives.

Hello Dianna
Nearly eleven years ago we contacted you with regard to getting one of your pups.
We actually visited you near Newcastle and you may remember my wife and two young daughters came your house.
You put us in contact with Regina up in the Hunter Valley and we bought a beautiful male liver nose
about three months later who we called Tugela (Zulu for "the Startling One").
Our devoted and precious boy passed away last night
after a short illness aged ten years and six months.
He was the most beautiful gentle creature totally dedicated to his family.
He had an amazing sense of humour and would silently follow me on any adventure I chose to take him on.
He had a wisdom of a very special animal kind and
even when he came face to face with a 2 meter tiger snake,
just graciously backed away to stand by my side whilst it uncoiled itself to slither back into the bush.
He would chase me into any surf to try and drag me out of the ocean
and run by my side through the forest where I rode my mountain bike.
One of his favourite moments was to share a cup of tea on the back step in the early morning.

We're all left with broken hearts but he has made our lives all the richer.
Thank you once again for your help in finding such an unforgettable friend.

Kind regards

Tugela was bred by Regina under the HuntingRidge prefix.
Tug is a littermate to my special boy "Kito" Ch Huntingridge Storm Chief ET.
This litter was sired by my boy "Chief" (Grand Ch Umkimzulu Navhao Warrior AI)
and Dam: "Zimbah" HuntingRidge Jungle Storm.
