Most of you are probably wondering what the hell Akazukin Cha Cha is. Well, except for my friends, who are all now groaning and walking away, mumbling," Sad, sad, sad," under their breath. Except for Suchinta *smile* who loves it too, and Jian-Xian who likes it REALLY but is wwaaayy too proud to accept it. Right Jian-Xian? *grin, duck and cover*. First up, definitions. Akazukin is Japanese for 'red-hood' (aka=red, zukin=hood), and Cha Cha is the name of the main character, a little girl who wears a red hood made by her teacher and foster parent, Seravi, who happens to be the greatest magician in the world. Cha Cha has the ability to transform into the Magical Princess Holy-Up when her powers of love combine with the powers of courage and hope. The Magical Princess is basically a tall leggy blonde that everyone loves. There's an evil dude called Daimarou, who wants to destroy Cha Cha (we find out why later). Doesn't sound interesting? It is though! It's a really funny cartoon, because although Cha Cha holds great potential in magic, she has the problem of messing up her magic! This is better understood in Japanese, because one word can have two meanings or can sound a lot like another word. It doesn't translate too well in English, but it's still really funny and cute! There are other characters, such as Cha Cha's two best friends, Riiya and Shiine, who hold the other powers for the Holy-up, Dorothy, Shiine's teacher and foster parent, who is ALSO Seravi's childhood sweetheart (more about THAT interesting relationship later), Marin, a mermaid who hates Cha Cha and loves Riiya, Yakko, another Cha Cha hater who is MADLY in love with Seravi (and therefore hates Dorothy too) and Orin (Suzu in english) who is a pint-sized ninja in love with Shiine, but unlike the other two likes Cha Cha. Both boys are MADLY in love with Cha Cha, and they all study together at Urara Gakuen, a school for magic. If you're interested, read on about the characters with the links below! If not, oh well!!
