Lincoln City’s fanatastic run of 8 games unbeaten continued with the
demolition of basement boys Chester City. The Imps opened the scoring on 10 minutes when Dave Barnett converted
at the back post. Continued pressure from Chester lead to Manual “Junior” Agogo sending a shot past Barry
Richardson. Chester should have scored earlier in the half but for Luke Beckett howler of a miss from 2 yards. After
the break City inproved with the crowd getting behind them, Lee Thorpe turned well against 2 men to curl a sweet
shot past ‘keeper Brown. Lincoln continued the mounted charge and when John Finnigan scored a deserved goal
which the Blues defence should have dealt with comfortably, City looked good for there work.
Later in the half
Gavin Gordon, who had an exellent game, was sent through one-on-one with Brown, he wen in 50/50 and came of
the worst when he was carried of with a leg injury. He was replaced with the popular player assitant manager Phil
Stant. He had an instant impact and could easily have had a hatrick. He got his goal when Lee Philpott made a fine
cross for Stant to head home to send the jubilent City supporters wild.
