There are two Trunks. One came from a dark future where all of the Z fighters had died. The other one is a spoiled little boy. Future Trunks went back in time to save the past from the cyborgs. He helps save the past from the cyborgs and Cell. He then returns to his time and is strong enough to kill the cyborgs.
The other Trunks grows up with both parents and a younger sister. He fought Buu, along with his best friend Goten (Goku's younger son)and fused to form Gotenks. In case you can't tell, I like future Trunks better.
