The Munson Photo Gallery

Here is a gallery of pictures that we wanted to add to the site, but not under any particular heading. Check in frequently for changes!

We finally got the Christmas Concert photos uploaded. Here is Elin with her clarinet. First chair, of course!

Joel is first chair trumpet in his advanced band, but his first love is rapidly becoming something with strings. He plays bass guitar with the Jazz Ensemble.

Here is a picture of Sara on her 11th birthday this year, with her present from Miles and Lynne Quigley.

Jeff and Karen before the annual Navy Ball here in Yokosuka. This may be the last time Jeff ever puts on this uniform. Considering it was original USNA issue, that might not be a bad thing.

Late October saw Sara, Karen, and Jeff back in the United States for various reasons. Above is a picture taken up in New Hampshire with Sara and her Aunt Lisa. Below is a picture of Sara and her Godparents, Lynne and Miles in Northern Virginia.

With fall came fall cleaning, including getting our baby groomed. Lots of hair came off, and she wasn't totally happy with the process. Here is the before and after - or the Wet Look vs.the Dry Look.

Karen teaches English once a month to a group of people at Yokosuka City Hall as part of a volunteer program. At the beginning of the month, we had the group over for home made strawberry ice cream.

The Mikoshi parades are starting back up, and people are carrying portable shrines everywhere. This picture is from a Mikoshi Parade on Yokosuka Naval Station.

At the end of August, we went upto Tama Hills, a recreation spot near Kawasaki run by the US Air Force. There was lots to do up there - camping, horseback riding, mini golf, and other activities. Joel's Cross Country team has most of their meets up there among the trails and the snakes. Here are pictures of Sara and Elin trying their hands at archery. They may not take after their Grandpa Munson, but they gave it a good go, and only lost one arrow!

So, who's seen the movie "The Birds?" (the kids make friends with the locals.)

This picture was taken on 29 November while hiking across Mt. Takatori. This buddha was carved into a large block of stone in a quarry near the summit of the mountain.
