John and Paul flew to New York on Saturday May 11 to unveil the groups' Apple Corps venture via a series of interview with the "serious" press (all day at the St Regis Hotel On Monday the 13th), a press conference 1:30pm at the Americana Hotel on Tuesday the 14th and an appearance on NBC-TV's the Tonight Show later this same day. Discussed are politics, racism, Maharishi, drugs and the media

4 John & Kenny chat, Beatles & Kenny chat 12:52 The complete session tape includes John strumming on a fretless guitar while expounding on what to expect from them in the next few months. "Somebody Stole My Gal," "Goodbye Jingle," Harry Nilsson, "Cottonfields" with Kenny, Rishikesh, what they've recorded so far, "It's The Kenny Everett Show," "You Know, Listeners," Apple, If he were stranded on an island and how high "Sgt. Pepper" was. Paul joins John for "Goodbye To Kenny Everett," John proposes "Tiny Tim For President," George says hello, Paul does Tiny, Ringo sings "Goodbye Kenny" and John and Paul do a jazzy "Strawberry Fields Forever."

5 "Yellow Sub" Press Preview 0:38 On Wednesday 17 July 1968, the Beatles took a day off from recording the White Album (they were in the middle of John's Cry Baby Cry) to attend the London premiere of their new animated film "Yellow Submarine" at the London Pavillion.

8 Paul - interview in Liverpool 0:25 On Thursday 15 May 1969, the day before he and Linda went abroad for a holiday, Paul was back in Liverpool, visiting his family. At some point this day, at his father's house in Heswall, he gave a long interview to former Liverpool Institute contemporary Roy Corlett, now on staff at the BBC's new local stattion Radio Mersyside. It was broadcast in the following day's edition of the porgramme Light and Local (Friday 16 May, 12.31-1.00pm) - or, as Paul called it, "a light at the local".

9 Because (acoustic version) 0:38 Two acoustic performances from John and Yoko's second and last 'bed-in' for peace (from Monday 26 May - Monday 2 June 1969) which was held in Montreal (after being refused a visa by the US, and finding the Bahamas too hot). The intent was the same: to stay under the sheets and welcome as much of the media as would come. It was during this second bed-in that the world's most endurable peace anthem and slogan, 'Give Peace A Chance' was recorded on Sunday 1 June with a host of friends.

13 John - interview at Abbey Road 4:12 On Thursday August 14 1969, John took a break from a session at Abbey Road to be interviewed by Kenny Everett (who even captured part of the Mean Mr. Mustard mixing session audio!). The Interview was broadcast in two parts by BBC Radio 1 in Everett Is Here, two Saturdays in November on the 20 and 27. Both at 10.00am - 12.00 noon.

14 John On "Paul is dead" rumors 7:21 A very surprised John talks from London to an American interviewer via phone on the new death rumours and manages to plug Plastic Ono Band in the process.

15 Ringo - British Wireless For The Blind Fund Appeal 2:09 At the Apple HQ in central London, Ringo made an unusual radio recording: a two-minute appeal on behalf of the British Wireless for the Blind Fund, for broadcast by the BBC - as was the custom - on Christmas Day. it was transmitted at 10.15 that morning by Radio 1 as an inset into the 10.00am-12.00 noon Kenny Everett's Christmas Show. (Sadly, hoever, it raised a mere 175 pounds, the least successful BBC charity appeal of the month.)
