Notes
The case is a standard 2 CD jewel case, with a pic of Mike, Eddie and Dave
in what looks to be a shower room? At the top are the words "Digital
Soundboard Recording", about in the middle are the words "VAN HALEN"
in bright red outlined in black. At the bottom is "US Festival '83",
white on top, red on bottom and outlined in blue.
The back has a stage shot Eddie, the tracklist in the middle, and to the
right, "Location: US Festival California 1983" and "Pure
Soundboard Recordings", with the CD logo underneath.
The CD's are very plain. Pink in color, CD 1 labeled "RC003", and
CD 2 labeled "RC004".
The audio for this 2 disc set is most likely from a video source as
evidenced by several minor edits, and by the inclusion of an edited version
of "You Really Got Me" at the end of the show. However, this is one of
the best sounding Dave era cd's.
This 2 disc set appears to be a "boot" of the "California
Calling" set.
At the end of the last track on disc two, the following is spoken by
an unknown person (male):
"You know, I wanted to bring my mother down here to see Van Halen. But
she was afraid that the heavy metal people are too rowdy, I mean, come
on, right? She should have been here today, with the sun and the water."
