Rhett’s Great Deer Hunting Stories

Once when I was 14 years old, I was hunting in Clinton, SC with my dad. It was December 30, two days before the end of deer season. To be honest, it was really not the best day to be out in the woods because of the bad weather, buy my dad and I went anyway. I was sitting in my stand when all of the sudden a giant deer came out. I shot the deer and saw it fall. I was so excited. The deer that I had just shot ended up being the 3rd largest deer killed in the state that year by a juvenille. I was so proud!!

Then there was the time early this hunting season when I was hunting with my girlfriend with my bow. We had been sitting in the ground blind for a few hours and nothing had happened. All of the sudden she said the words that I love to hear, “big buck”! The buck was standing exactly 32 yards away. I drew back my bow and let the arrow fly. I hit the buck right behind the shoulder just where I was aiming. He ran about 80 yards before falling over dead. It was the biggest buck I had ever shot with my bow. Below is the picture of my proud bow kill.
