I decided to move this to the drug page
> thought I would throw in the word of the till I update or remove it psychopharmacotherapeutics -the thing that strikes me about this word is that drugs seems allot less ink .. popular usages.. yes I am a psychopharmacotherapeutics merchantman. lightly whiney newyork sounding lady .. oh whats that that sounds interesting...
Well regardless of what anybody thinks I'm not really for or against drug use. I don't do drugs intentionally athough I get my share of sanitizers in water and additives in food, and chemical wastes in the air, or the pesticides on grass. Well its all environment and if you take the route of chemicles isn't it all chemicles. I'm not so much bound to that thought and am post-science with a so logical grounding I am now illogical. I like happiness without seekingn it out. i've seen things and came to understanding of things outside of the mainstream and really the proactive drug use or necesity of anything isn't there anymore, it's free spirit. I'm not objective although I am an expressive subjectivist based upon extreme ethics crossbred with absoulute morality. I'm not running for office here and the system has already screwed me out of a normal life and I can say that I didn't really enjoy drugs, They were altered states but I got basically no pleasure from them the pleasure if anything was company of people, the drugs were just an addition. It is what it is, enjoy it.
The results of my opinion on pot....after a short research process on sciences opinion of weed Health Issues:
-Learning/Memory deficits(short term), students may find it hard to study and learn
impact on memory and learning can last for days or weeks after the acute effects of the drug wear off
-increase in the activation of the stress-response system and changes in the activity of nerve cells containing dopamine <---on animals
-Several studies associate workers' marijuana smoking with increased absences, tardiness, accidents, workers' compensation claims, and job turnover. withdrawal behaviors"such as leaving work without permission, daydreaming, spending work time on personal matters, and shirking tasks that adversely affect productivity and morale.
-People trying to quit report irritability, sleeplessness, and anxiety. They also display increased aggression on psychological tests, peaking approximately one week after the last use of the drug
-pot smoking may contribute to mental illnesses such as schizophrenia
-In the short term, marijuana use impairs perception, judgment, thinking, memory, and learning; memory defects may persist six weeks after last use. Mental disorders connected with marijuana use merit their own category in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) IV, published by the American Psychiatric Association. These include Cannabis Intoxication (consisting of impaired motor coordination, anxiety, impaired judgment, sensation of slowed time, social withdrawal, and often includes perceptual disturbances; Cannabis Intoxication Delirium (memory deficit, disorientation); Cannabis Induced Psychotic Disorder, Delusions; Cannabis Induced Psychotic Disorder, Hallucinations; and Cannabis Induced Anxiety Disorder.
-Tetrahydrocannabinol, the main, active ingredient in marijuana, temporarily alters brain functioning that affects sensory perception, reflexes, and coordination. Because it changes the way people see, hear, and feel, it can impair judgement. Driving under the influence of marijuana is extremely dangerous. The fact that many teens smoke marijuana while they are drinking alcohol makes driving even more lethal.
-pregnency due to inhibitions being removed/carelessness risk of hiv and other std's
-Studies in children born to mothers who used marijuana have shown increased behavioral problems during infancy and preschool years. In school, these children are more likely to have problems with decisionmaking, memory, and the ability to remain attentive.
-bodies' adaptation to an almost continuous presence of the drug in its system. The brain adapts to the pain reducing reaction to the drug and its other analgesic effects like inducing sleep
intake of smoke
-link between drug use and unsafe sex and the spread of HIV
-trouble handling complex tasks
-increased heart rate, user’s risk of heart attack more than quadruples in the first hour
educed oxygen-carrying capacity of blood.
-athletes could find their performance is off; timing, movements, and coordination are all affected by THC.
effects can last up to 24 hours after smoking
-THC impairs the immune system
-contains irritants and carcinogen, marijuana smoking doubled or tripled the risk of these cancers. mice exposed to THC or related substances were more likely than unexposed mice to develop bacterial infections and tumors.increases the likelihood of developing cancer of the head or neck,
-If you are a heavy smoker of marijuana and tobacco joints (more than 10 a day) you are significantly increasing your risk of contracting lung disease.
-infrequent use can cause burning and stinging of the mouth and throat
-daily cough and phlegm production, more frequent acute chest illness, a heightened risk of lung infections, and a greater tendency to obstructed airways.
-A study of 450 individuals found that people who smoke marijuana frequently but do not smoke tobacco have more health problems and miss more days of work than nonsmokers
"smoking pot is much safer than smoking cigarettes"
note these are just some of the main "health issues" with weed. There are other ones specific to the manner in which the pot is grown, these include fungi bacteria lacings and potency issues.
When you don't grow yourself you also risk source issues.
Note I'm not a doctor I'm not an grower This information is all second hand, I can't account for the validity. This isn't meant as a anti weed post rather it is showing what issues public health and politicians may have with making the drug legally available.
On the context of tobbaco being allowed and drinking I really wouldn't see an issue with weed on the same basis. It's not so much my issue. I feel people should be free to do what they want as long as all people involved are in argreement that it is an action that they want to take. Although in the case of mass production and autodriving etc.. that is hardly the case in society. Whatever Im not going to go into a rant. Note I suggest that someone presents all the GOOD things about Marijuana here since I'm perhaps playing devils advocate.
