How the Romans bathed

A bath house consisted of four main parts: * The cloakroom were the clothes were left * A warm room with a small pool * The hot room which also had a small pool * A room with a large, cold water swimming pool In today's society the Roman baths would be viewed as a club as the baths were mainly a place to socialise as well as bathe. The Romans could also enjoy a range of leisurely activities such as sports and recreation of just reading something in the baths library.
