My Unique Homemade Gift Ideas

(with help from Scrappy, the Christmas dog)

CONTENTS

WHY THIS PAGE WAS STARTED: Over the past few years I've searched through 8,792 websites (just a guess) looking for appropriate holiday gift ideas that were also frugal and (ideally) homemade/handmade. After reading about 8,792nd time about how to make #1- a "Victorian" Christmas decoration using a clear plastic ball ornament (swirling paint inside or gluing sequins to the outside...YIKES!), #2- how to make a gift "basket" by throwing dollar store bath salts & potpourri into a wicker basket, #3- how to print a "name poem" on a scroll....etc etc...I could go on here, but I'm looking for CLASSY gifts (crafty, not tacky!)....not to be mean, but it seems as if everyone has the same ideas and I don't like 99% of them!

This is a gathering place for the gift ideas that I have collected, which I would feel comfortable actually GIVING to a friend, relative, or neighbor. I try to go by what I would be interested in at a store and what I would like to recieve myself. Most of these are useful or edible. I do buy many items at dollar stores. Some are more casual than others, but over I think these are some unique ideas that don't require a lot of cost or special tools.

PS- A note about gift baskets- I've been exchanging gift baskets for several years (pre-arranged with certain relatives), so I know that these can be done tastefully... see my ideas in the gift basket section BELOW.

If you have ideas that you would like to submit, please email them to me. NO SEQUINS ALLOWED!
