WILLIFORD GENEALOGY

This family is most likely Cherokee because Jasper Thomas Williford is Native-American. He was not found on the Dawes Rolls. But, he a was a sheriff in Indian territory. He was also a farmer from Virginia. Censuse information does tend to put him starting out in Alabama. They by no means stayed there! I have run into a brick wall with this family. They moved around a lot!!! I will be working on this as time permits. I have no illusions. This is going to take some time to figure out!!!

And, I welcome corrections. Click to email me: Genealogy Hobby

Thank you to anyone who has contacted me with connections to this family. Being part cherokee, there are a ton of brick walls one runs into in researching genealogy.

The website called FamilySearch.org is also really helping me to fill in a lot of gaps regarding this family.

This family moved around a lot as evidenced by the census records. Also, the family does have native-american blood, as evidenced by the picture of Jasper T. Williford.

William Jackson Williford was Jasper T. Willifords father. I am still no closer to finding his parentage. But, I have many clues. Below click on the notes for William Jackson Williford. A distant realtive said that his mother was Louisa Williford Handley NOTES
