Let the Show begin...
7th August 2003 00:33am
Started my orientation programme today.. tink its more like an O-week than an O-camp.. no games and stuff one lar.. juz some introductory talks by some deans and previous exchange students.. den got a campus walk to sort of show us around lar.. but i wasnt really paying attention lar.. we were chatting with 2 students from China who are doing their Masters here in NTNU..
The guy is doing electrical engineering too but i cant rem which field he is specialising in liao.. while the gal is doing economics.. the guy left after the campus walk cos he's visiting his sister in Bergen tonite.. will only be back next tues.. the gal is called 林怡 .. quite sweet and cute.. but she's 24 years old liao.. haha.. its quite ironic lar.. back in NUS, we have got so many China students and i really cant be bothered to tok to anyone of them.. but now here in Norway for SEP, i ended up meeting China people and toking to them.. actually they really quite interesting people quite unlike the ones i saw in NUS..
We oso met another China guy from Jiangsu called 毛大卫..oso a Masters' student and he's doing Hydro-engineering.. quite a knowledgeable guy who is veri friendly oso.. anywae, this orientation programme have a lot of Masters' students.. in fact tink the 3 of us are the only exchange students.. cos the rest of the exchange students are mostly taking the intensive Norwegian course and din join this orientation programme..
Den the organisers bought us to a pub at the Student Union.. got a some instrumental performance of Norwegian music.. quite nice atmosphere there.. followed by some African Drums performances.. we oso get a free drink there.. and i had a beer.. their beer is quite nice leh.. not the ones we have in Singapore which is disgusting (at least to me lar).. theirs is more mild and easily to swallow.. anywae, alcohol is quite affordable i tink here and beer is pretty cheap too.. even the organisers were warning us that we may have to drink some amount of beer during social gatherings or parties here.. as Norwegians, or rather most Europeans, do drink quite a lot of beer one.. maybe after my SEP, i may changed my opinion about beer..
Anywae, i haven drank for quite some time liao.. juz drank a mug (abt 0.5 litre) den my face super red liao.. damn paiseh.. guess wat my the other 2 frens have never gone clubbing/pubbing before leh.. haha.. guess we are really different... juz when i was tinking that this place seems quite happening and i probably may be spending some of my weekends here.. den my guy fren told me that he probably will give this place a miss.. haha.. good old catholic boy-boy.. =P.. feel so 坏 in front of him.. oh yah, the China gal oso commented that i looked like a Japanese leh.. haha.. 1st time got people say i looked like Japanese leh.. last time alwaz is Malay, Indian or Eurasian one.. =(
Oh yah, next wednesday i may be going to watch a Champions' League match! The norwegien club here in Trondheim is Rosenburg FC and they are hosting Deportivo La Coruna next week!! hopefully, i can get my hands on some tixs and jio someone to go with me.. quite exciting leh.. anywae, feeling quite happy today.. maybe cos i got to meet new and interesting ppl.. and i am even looking forward to tom's programme.. lets hope this is where all the fun really begins..
