1st impressions of Stockholm, Sweden

31st July 2003 1140pm

Sweden, from what i have seen so far, is more urbanised than Norway.. or least Stockholm is more urbanised than both Trondheim and Bergen.. haven really got any chance to check out the food prices yet but i heard the it should cheaper than in Norway... Norway is the most expensive place in Scandinavia which is the most expensice region in the world.. kaoz.. why did i choose Norway in the 1st place... damn.. anyway, the Swedish Kroner is smaller than the Norwegien Kroner.

We arrived at the Stockholm Central train station at around 7:30pm.. we changed some money into Swediah Kroners and checked out some train information to get from Stockholm to Coppenhagen. Most probably we will stay in Stockholm for 3 days and den leave for Coppenhagen on Sunday nite.. Since we have not able to book any rooms in advance, we went to try our luck at a hostel called the Backpackers' Inn.. we walked for about 45mins to get to the hostel but the hostel is already packed... but the reception gal was quite helpful, she helped us called up another hostel and was able to help us book 3 beds there...

The only problem left was to find the place... the reception gal wrote us the address of the place and told us to take the subway there.. so we make our way to nearest subway from Backpackers' Inn.. but when the train came, there was a gust of wind.. and blew away the piece of paper on which the address and name of the hostel.. so we lost the paper but we still board the train lar... damn suay.. the paper actualli flew and dropped into the escalator?@!.. how suay is that, man.. sigh

we arrived at the train station but the train station guy oso abit unsure where is the place.. so we tried to walk abit but realised its getting dark and there isnt much ppl around for us to ask for directions.. so we thought we might as well go back to the train station to sleep and save our money.. so we decide to ask juz one more person and if he cant help us, den we can go and sleep in the train station liao.. so happened that the guy i approached at the bus stop, was going to the same hostel oso...so we juz followed him onto the bus lor.. heng ah...

that place is damn ulu lor...its impossible to have walk to the place from the train station...its quite an interesting place.. not exactly a hostel lor.. its a motel-cum-camping site.. got a lot camping caravens there... not like the usual hostels like YMCA.. its in the woods and have camping grounds for ppl to pitch tents one.. in the end, we got ourselves a 4-beds room for 510sek per nite.. plus another 40sek for buffet breakfast... so its pretty much cheaper than the Backpackers' Inn.. =)

sometimes i cant realli stand them.. tink i sort of noe why liao.. tink i am too 随便 liao.. a lot of times when we have to make some decisions especially when travelling and finding accommodation... i veri 随便 one... but they alwaz wanted the cheapest deal on the planet and i find it quite irritating at times.. maybe i am too impatient liao... but it's like i understand that the cost of living is rather high... but i've learnt to accept it liao lor.. no matter what, i have to spent the next 5months in Scandinavia...and i would have to eat lor.. so too bad lar.. come all the way here liao, and u wanna tour and yet 省so much... veri difficult lar... then they have to keep whinning about the prices and compare with Singapore... wahpiang, compared so much oso no use..so i have learnt to stop comparing...cos its juz a waste of time..

tink they quite 婆妈 sometimes... everything oso muz considered and planned swee swee... but i keep telling them that we dun have to plan too much one cos a lot of things may screwed up and things usually dun follow according to plan... so we dun have to plan until too detailed lar..

sorry ah, in a complaining mood today.. they all veri "ball-less" leh.. sorry cant tink of a better word liao... especially the guy.. kaoz.. he from OCS one lor but he disrupted half way for studies.. kept saying he's army-trained, carry backpack no problem one... but he doesnt even dare to drink tap water and go hostel sleep on the beds, he muz used his own bedsheets one.. cos he tinks its too dirty.. kaoz.. wtf??  Army-trained lidat one ah?? ..or army dun go field camp anymore??.. haii.. maybe i am irritated cos i too 随便 liao..got den good liao, can sleep, so when they are so bothered with such stuff.. i get veri agitated and wondered why they so boliao..

Anglai told me to "give and take" when travelling with them.. i alreadi sort of give up liao lor.. leave all the decisions with them liao..cos i am fine with everything and usually they are the ones who are more concerned with the prices of hostels, whether we are having buffet breakfast where we can "kop" food for the rest of the day..etc.. so i decided to leave everything to them.. i dun wanna intervene in their decisions-making unless absolutely necessary.. anywae, to them, i am juz a rich regular who arent so concerned with money cos i am "rich".. fine.. i dun care.. i juz hope to make the trip more enjoyable and fun..

whats the point of being able to travel around but with ppl whom dun really click well with you.. sigh.. i hope we can communciate better in the future.. but 我不排除我们有一天会闹翻,然后各走各的的可能... hopefully, things will work out lar.. sort of understand why Jingyi says she cant get along well with the guys with her in Canada liao.. they are simply too many things to take into consideration.. so many things that we may have different views and opinions.. sigh.. are things really that bad, or am i juz tinking too much again...
