RETRO CYCLES AND FIXED GEARS?

Yep, old - style road bikes and fixed gear buildups, that's where my interests lie. There's nothing as sweet as a fixed gear, or a steel roadie.

Steel is sadly hard to find these days, which is why most steel bikes are either old, or niche brands like the Lemond models [see page below].

As to fixed, a fixed gear can be the ultimate commuter, winter bike, or old fashioned road fun machine. Some enjoy riding them for their mechanical simplicity, others for the "retro factor". And many hard-core roadies prefer to continue the tradition of training on fixes during the winter season. Fixed's don't have to be steel -- as my aluminum yellow Trek shows above -- but steel bikes can also make really cool fixed gears.

After building and riding fixed gears, I have concluded it is best help others "get fixed" too -- Hence this site. This "Retro Cycles" site is primarily for informational purposes, but I can also help start you on your way. Fixed gears rock -- try one and find out why.
