Cosmic funk Express is Zack Kim on Lead Guitar Alex Ang on Drums & Alda Tan on Bass

The band was put together in the mid of 2004, was a brainchild of Zack Kim (Lead Guitar) and Alda Tan (Bass).They later roped in Alex Ang to fill the drum throne.

Korean born Zack Kim, has been living in Malaysia for the past fourteen years and is a brilliant guitarist albeit being self-taught. A quirky personality who has only recently been introduced to the world of performing, Nevertheless, His flair managed to scale great heights quickly as he takes on a session player role in well-known local bands like Tempered Mental, One Buck Short and GroovetankZack who is also known within the local scene and to those who have seen him, as one the faster guitarist in the circuit, but with all that quick finger acrobatics, Zack still plays with much feel and soul as any other guitarist. Zack was named the best guitarist at HELP Institute's Battle of the Band which Cosmic Funk Express emerged champion. Some other accreditation of Zack includes working alongside some of Malaysia's top producers like Greg Henderson and Nick Lee.

KL based Alda Tan, has been a mobile bass player, chances are you probably seen and heard him play with numerous other acts before discovering that Cosmic Funk Express is his main band. Known for eccentric stage presence, he keeps audiences well entertained, as they do not know what to expect next. Being versatile, has made Alda an in demand bass player. He has been featured on Shelley Leong's AIM Nominated debut Album Story Teller, and is also in her back up band Jazz Odssey. He was also a featured bass player on Dragon Red's debut album Holocaust. His live credentials includes Mont Kiara's Jazz Fest 2005 with Jazz Odssey, Rock The World 5 with Dragon Red, People at the Peak magazine Launch (backing Sufiah from Malaysian Idol 1), Northern Exposure at the Esplanade Singapore, Penang Island Jazz Fest 2004, ESPN X-games 2003 and many various events, gigs and dinners.

The music genre Cosmic Funk Express plays is a fusion of funk, rock and jazz. Cosmic Funk Express' most notable gigs and events were the Music Canteen and NST truck tour's Kuantan Leg, Mont Kiara's Jazz Fest 2004 and 2005, The Sun's Music Festival, Art for All Carnival, World Peace Concert Berjaya Time Square, Kampong Fest, Fete De La Musique 2005 and HELP's Battle Of The Bands which they emerge Champions to name a few. They also recently played and won Jack Daniel's Battle of the Bands, and was featured on Malaysia's Biggest Rock Festival Rock The World 6

Their first Single Pieces was put on high rotation on X Fresh Fm and Cosmic Funk Express was one of the first instrumental bands to break into a mainstream Radio's rotation.

Currently working on their still untitled debut album, which would be schedule out by mid 2006.
