"Oh No! Where Did The Dinosaurs Go?" is a Web Quest designed to help students develop critical thinking skills.  Working together, students use the web sites provided to explore the various views of dinosaur extinction.  Then, they give a brief explanation of each view.  After they have defined the views, they list evidence for and against them using a chart provided at the site.  At this point, students are asked to come to a conclusion about the history of Dinosaurs and make an oral presentation to the class using the evidence they have discovered.
 
 

The correlations between this Web Quest and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills are extraordinary.  Though expectations of student performance will vary according to reading level, the site is very usable across a broad age range.  It has correlations in science as well as technology applications from 3rd grade to high school.

          With this site and with the appropriate software students are able to compose their own contemporary music.  Students may then listen to songs written by friends and burn a CD of their own songs as well as their favorites in the classroom.   With teacher guidance, students use this website to develop a multitude of valuable computer skills as well as some of the most important concepts in music.
 
 

         This site was developed in California where it meets more academic content standards at more grade levels than can possibly be listed here.  Though developed in California, it is equally useful in Texas.  "Music That Drives" is aligned to address portions of chapter 117 of the "Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills."  This is true for all grades from 1st through 12th, though it requires much more teacher modeling for use among students below 5th grade or with students of limited technological exposure.
