option 1:
a: take some small pepples and spray paint them to be all different colors.

b: glue the pieces around the border or all over the surface or frame.

option 2:
a: take a bunch of free CD's. you can get them all over place. like AOL trial cd's and any free internet cd.

b: put all the CD's in a bag and take a hammer and crack them into a bunch or pieces. all different sizes and shapes. (no bigger then 1" x 1")
