All Reviews are curtosy my pal and pseudo anime god, Allen, unless otherwise stated.

Keep in mind this is almost all anime I've either seen through friends or own, so most will be good reviews. Akira (New version) Summary: The post World War Three Japan has become a dangerous place, and New Tokyo is the heart of it all. Bike gangs run loose through the city streets, causing havoc. But when an escappe from a military hospital injures a gang member while on the run, everything changes. Now Tetsuo, who was just an ordinary biker, has been taken by the government and is being tested upon in psycic experiements. Now as he tries to discover what he's becoming, his best friend tries to discover the truth behind this experiements. Opinion: Great animation, interesting plot, and thrilling, realistic action. Sometimes it can be a little drawn out, but you don't need to be an experienced anime fan to like it. Anyone who pays attention to voice acting in anime will appreciate this movie, because anyone who's anyone in the VA world is in it. Bastard!! Summary: The most powerful wizard ever, Dark Schneider, has been slain. And in the 15 years since his passion, 4 warlords have started their personal conquest of awakening the God of Destruction and bringing their rule to the world. The only thing that stands in their way? A spell that brings Dark Schneider back from the dead, and into a living body once again. All hell breaks lose as the battle for who controls the planet is waged. Opinion: A great story of intrigue and betrayal. Not to mention a trash-talking good guy that threatens to conquer the world simply to have all the woman he wants. Fun action sequences, good plot and characters you love to watch. Fans of old school fantasy will enjoy this. And all 6 episodes are crammed onto one DVD, making it a great deal (And don't worry, 6 episodes isn't much, but still gets the job done better then most 36 episode series) Berserk (Only 1st DVD released) Summary: "The Black Swordsman" is a name that many know and fear. He is the man who wields the sword as large as his own body, and that can take on even the most powerful demons and win. His reputation is known across the world. But his past is not. In "Berserk", we are given a flashback to the life of the Black Swordsman, Gattsu (aka Guts). Opinion: Although I've only seen the beginning, this is looking to be a solid, well made series. The action scenes are enjoyable, and the plot finds way to keep itself going steady without getting repetative. I'm hoping we can see more of the "Black Swordsman" Guts than just "Teenage" Guts later in the series, but as far as a 1st DVD goes, everything about his past is explained in good style. Black Heaven (Only 1st DVD seen): Summary: Many people don't like the system, but Oji despises it. Regardless of that fact, he is forced to be part of it now. Oji was once the guitarist of a prominent heavy metal band. But his dream overwhelmed him, and now he is lost in a "post-15 minutes" life of a wife, kid, and day job at the office. But of course this all changes the day he meets Layla Yuki, a new office worker in his branch. It turns out she is a military leader for an alien army that is currently losing their conflict. How can Oji help? Somehow, his unique guitar playing is the catalyst to an ultrapowerful weapon system that wins the battle everytime. His personal faith in himself restored, Oji is more then happy to help "Save the Space" with his first love, the guitar. The problem? He has to keep it a secret from the world he lives in, and survive in the process! Opinion: A solid comedy with mixed drama and action to spice it up. The dialogue is well written, and the plot, while not ground breaking, is suitable for a comedy with an action backdrop. The first DVD is farily slow moving, but if the plot picks up then the series' value will as well. Worth seeing, at least. Excel Saga (Only 1st DVD released) Summary: The organization of ACROSS has only one goal: Conquer the world. The problem? They only have two employees. So they decide to start small. The City of F is now the new target. The world will simply come later. And that, right there, is about the only discernable plot. Every episode has Lord Iliplazzo giving a mission for Excel to accomplish so they make succeed in taking over the city. Yet every episode is also an outragiously hilarious spoof of a certain genre (Anime, Sci-Fi, B-Action movies, Dating Games/Romance anime, and Hard-Hitting Drama are on the first DVD, respectively). This is classic theatre of the absurd, and has to be seen to believed. Opinion: OH... MY... GOD... Excel Saga is the FUNNIEST show EVER made. I was in tears I was laughing so hard, and that's from previews for the next episode alone. You must have an extremely good knowledge of anime to get the full experience out of it, but it can still be enjoyed by most. The acting is supurb, the presentation is noteworthy (Complete with a "pop up video" style option that explains inside jokes we Americans wouldn't get), and the writing and dialogue is, for the lack of a better term, crack-induced. As Excel says: "This may be a pretty girl anime where flowers bloom and bird fly, but on this show flowers bloom on your head and birds have herpes!" If you're looking for laughs, there is no equal, no comparison, and not even a rival to Excel Saga. El Hazard Summary: Members of a highschool are teleported to another dimenion by a mysterious artifact discovered in the school. Upon their arrival, they discover a world of mystic wonder, vast kingdoms, and dangerous magic. To add to the mix, each charcter is granted a certain power that they discover over the course of time. El Hazard is the first of many adventures with this cast, so be sure to watch this first and see the adventure begin! Opinion: This is a perfect example of a "Mixed" anime. The action and drama can be taken seriously, yet the comedy only enhances the experience. Solidly made, almost anyone can enjoy it.
