About Us

Recyclean Foundation, Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit organization  whose main objective is to utilize waste materials to manufacture new products and at the same time, educate the public on proper waste management and  to generate livelihood  opportunities from these “trash-to-cash” activities.

Handmade Paper Products

Among the projects it has undertaken are handmade paper products like picture frames, fans, gift bags, jewelry boxes, greeting cards etc.. These items are made from 100% waste fibers from the paper manufacturing process or from a mixture of  waste fibers and pulp from cogon grass. Dye,  recovered from empty dyestuff containers, is used to add colors to the products.

Industrial Products

Recyclean Foundation is a believer of zero-waste management. Thus when challenged to come up with ways to utilize waste water treatment sludge, it was able to come up with hollow blocks with 18% to 20%  sludge which are cheaper and comparable or even better than those in the local market in terms of strength.  It is now helping in the  production of cement bonded boards which are manufactured from paper fiber clay (sludge)  and cement.

Recent Projects

Recently, it has started doing composting activities after discovering that a company located near the RFI office is throwing away approximately 500 kilograms of vegetables scraps on a daily basis. These are now being recovered and mixed with biodegradable materials from TIPCO and put to good use.

On public information, it has conducted trainings to cooperatives, housewives and students. Eventually, they will be tapped to produce some of the products of  the foundation.  In addition to lectures and site visits, Recyclean Foundation is also co-sponsoring the weekly radio program  “BUKAS Bayan”  which is aired every Saturday, 8:30 to 9:00 am over DWRW 95.1 FM. The program tackles solid waste management and other environmental issues.
