Welcome to an experiment! What is the Old Time Radio Trading Network ? It evolved from my frustration in trying to link up with other Old Time Radio collectors who are interested in supplementing each other collections. Right now what I have done (and am continuously in the process of doing) is posting and updating a list of all my OTR discs and shows. I'm constantly surprised at the number of collectors out there today, and have spent a good deal of time (and money) both buying and selling items on eBay and other on-line auction sites. While this is often a necessity, I think a direct networking of OTR collectors would be a mush more economic solution. As I've said this is an experiment and, as such, a work in process. As it stands right now I am simply posting MY collection in hopes someone else will see an item that interests them and are willing to either buy, or better, trade for an item in their collection. Eventually I hope to add a posting board, messaging center and offer space or links to other collector looking to do the same. Hopefully this will cut down on the money we spend each year buying items off line, out bidding other collectors (and in doing so, driving up the prices) on item where may copies are available. This is not intended as a large money making venture on my part, it is simply an attempt at creating a community resource to help preserve and promote the collection and enjoyment of Old Time Radio.
Please take a look at my listing of MP3 (and in some cases “.ra”) Old Time Radio shows, some will show an active link- click on this and it will take you to a page listing every show title (and air date when available) of that disc. Unfortunately I have not found any method to successfully “cut and paste” show titles in to my data base.; this then requires me to copy each title from my MP3 player to my web site data base, a daunting task- So please bear with me as new Disc indexes will be posted regularly until my entire collection is up for viewing. I am able to burn any disc listed on to MP3 (except for the “.ra” only discs) and am willing to trade for just about any OTR show not currently listed in my collection! I will also be willing to sell copies of any item at a reasonable price (usually around $5.99 for one disc, $.9.99 for two and discounts from sets or random collections). I am also able to burn audio discs (80 minutes – usually 2 to 6 shows depending on the show running time) for those of who do not have an MP3 player, or simply wish to have some OTR to play in the car. I am more than willing to compile specialty discs (either MP3 or audio) upon request (mix and match episodes from different shows or discs)- Please feel free to E-mail me with any questions, comments or ideas.
