Without You

In the absence of your smile, an empty soul would I be,
Bathed in the absolute grimness of life's cruel menagerie,
Waking to each day, only to wish it away with hate,
Looking at my empty life, and only blaming fate,
Without you, I'd be another nothing in the abyssal sea of men,
With no goals to lead me, no hopes, what should I do then,
I'd cry myself to sleep, and in my wake call out your name,
After a love so grand, if you left, could I ever be the same,
I fell in love, and still I'm falling, if love stopped would I hit the ground,
Would I be a broken man then, could I turn my back on the love that I had found,
If ever I be without you, I should walk a curs'ed fool,
Between my mind and heart, I would never live the duel,
Without you, there will be no happily ever after I fear,
Only a dark and empty book, that no one wants to hear,
