When a place is demolished, usually all the rats run out immediately as the place collapses around them, some though never make it and die with their home. This is what happened with certain businesses when the Bull Ring Shopping Centre was demolished. Gone are the old Bull Ring pubs like The Matador and Blarney Stone, and a small open air stall that sold raw unrefridgerated meat from a wooden wheel barrow, in summer. Former residents that escaped and made it include Cafe Neo,now resding in the Rag Market.

The windows once overlooked the Bull Ring as it was being built, so while you ate you'd get an eye full of builder’s arses. With the Bull Ring open today you'll get to see the elderly wondering in and out of Debenhams, rather than a hairy crack.

It opens early and can get very busy, especially during market day (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) so table space may be limited. You may have to rugby tackle an old woman to get to a table first. Comfy seats and the food is OK, not as cheap as Mr Egg though which is down the road. Outdoor seating is available, so continental, and they say Brummies aren't sophisticated!
