Two: The White Envelope

"…So then while he was walking down the catwalk, he fell over on stage and into the crowd" Brian finished off as Jo burst out laughing loudly, much to the aggravation of people sitting around them.

Johanna and Brian had been sitting incognito for the past fifteen minutes at the secluded café restaurant, which over looked nothing more than an orange brick wall and a few tin rubbish cans lying around. "Perfect place to hide from the press" Brian had explained as he had arrived in the disguise of a blue Dodgers cap and a deep blue windbreaker, completed with shades "to hide those famous baby blues" he added in a forged air of arrogance.

"You know what?" he asked as a broad smile played on his face. "I take back what I said about you being grown up… you're exactly as loud and childish as you always were" he laughed gleefully, as Jo hit him lightly on the arm.

"And violent as always" he added, as he calmed down laughing long enough to take a sip of the coffee he had ordered.

"So what was that important thing you just had to tell me today?" Jo asked, as her curiosity grew. "Don't tell me… you got a brain?" she teased.

"Nothing like that" he confirmed, as he pulled out a wind battered white envelope, almost unrecognisable from his jacket. "This is for you" he slid across the table as he beamed happily.

"You're not paying for employing me as your friend all these years, are you?" Jo laughed boisterously, as she raised her eyebrows.

"Open it and find out" he coaxed suggestively, wriggling his eyebrows. "You never know…"
