Prologue On
some days, I think it'll be okay. Some days, I think I'll get by. But
more often than not, I expect him to walk in the door and ask, "How was
your day?" The
unexpected silence in the last few moments we shared will always remain etched
in my memory, like graphic scenes of war up front- except the enemy wasn't
across "No-Man's-Land". And when time slipped away ever so slowly, the
enemy stayed within; somewhere that no one could ever reach, remaining as
enigmatic as it had always set out to be. I
always thought that what you once lost could be found. And that there was a
tomorrow to fix things. But
I've been so wrong. 'Cos
if you really loved someone, you wouldn't wait till tomorrow to fix things.
You'd do it today.
