Prologue

The afternoon rays penetrated punishing onto the tight knit of traffic on the chaotic freeway.

Small cars dodged through luckily founded gaps whilst impatient truck drivers honked loudly on their horns. Kids in the back of the local school bus made faces at the drivers in cars following and the occasional bike rider would weave somewhat successfully through the temporarily stationary traffic, much to the annoyance of the drivers in cars.

The traffic finally eased slightly, as each car rolled after the other, after following their predecessor's signals.

The black Camry slowed to a stop as the highlighted yellow light switched abruptly to a menacing red.

The red light finally shifted to bright green. The black Camry accelerated slightly forward, just as a white Ford cut it's path, smashing the bumper lights of the small black car.

Glass shattered on impact, throwing the startled driver forward in their belted position. A rich and stick red substance was splattered over the thick gray upholstery, simultaneously smudging the carefully applied eyeliner and foundation on her face.

The driver draped the wheel, unconscious and inanimate as the door was thrown open, the afternoon sun finally pouring though freely.

The impatient mass of traffic fell in chaos as a few ignorant drivers   honked, annoyed. Others emerged from stationary cars to observe the situation; some screamed on cell phones as a result.

The high pitched squeal of the sirens were blasting closer toward the scene as a white paramedics van appeared on the scene...
