Barry Zito hasn't been quite, um, updated. Rest assured it will be slowly
in the coming days. Gameday page for 2004 is mostly updated... until
then.... April 29, 2004:
New York, NY Zito's outing in
the Big Apple is another loss. He gives up 4 homeruns (Jeter, A-Rod,
Williams, Cairo). The first pitch of the game to Jeter in the top of
the first results in a solo shot that breaks Jeter's 0-for-32 drought at the
plate. Zito then strikes out Bernie Williams in the next at bat. It
was a crazy outing....he had 9 strike-outs on the night, but gives up 6 runs.
Record 2-3, ERA 6.83. April 23, 2004:
Oakland, CA A tough outing
for Zito. He gives up 10 hits, 9 earned runs, and 2 homeruns. His
ERA inflates to 6.26 and the next destination: Yankee's Stadium. April 18, 2004:
Anaheim,CA Zito gets the win
in this somewhat wild game at Anaheim. He hits two batters and Eckstein
steals twice against him (Erstad was the third). Bobby Crosby hits a HR
and some other A's offense helps with the win. Record is now 2-1 and his
ERA lowers to 3.32. April 13, 2004:
Arlington, TX Zito gets his
first win of the season. His ERA is 4.15 April 7, 2004:
Oakland, CA Zito loses his
first start of the season. An 8 inning effort against Texas at the
Coliseum ends with a loss, his first against Texas in his career. Next
opponent should be Texas again, this time in Arlington. April 2004 Welcome to the
2004 season. Zito is slated to start the third game of the season, at home

I realize this site hasn't been updated in... well, forever. Since the last update, Zito has signed a multi-million (emphasis on MULTI) dollar contract with the San Francisco Giants. The move across the Bay hasn't proved to be as successful as his years in green and gold. This site might be taken down - or transformed. Stay tuned? Any comments can be sent here. Thanks!
