1969 (70/71/72) Panther. Anybody interested in this sled? Make me an offer!

07.23.08 - UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: The hood is NOT sold, and is still available. Also, I have begun listing parts on ebay. Right now I have the carbs and pipes up. I will be listing the hood, seat, and chassis asap.

07.10.08 - UPDATE UPDATE: The hood is now sold.

07.08.08 - UPDATE: This sled is now being parted out. The carbs are gone. The rest is there, the pipes have been removed from the chassis. I've posted some new pics of these parts (see below). The left side pipe head cone is pretty good on top but dented on the bottom. The right side head cone is beat up on top and bottom. The back half of both pipes are in pretty good condition. If you want something, shoot me an e-mail with an offer!

The basic chassis is a 1969 Panther 634 (P-35HS) with chrome side pipes. Bumper is from a '70 Panther. Front end (non-jackshaft), handle bars and console are from a '72 Puma/Cheetah. Engine is a CCW 400 from a Scorpion. Engine turns over but I did not check it for spark or compression. The clutch is from a John Deere. The rear suspension is modified on the front half to be like the '71 (and newer) style. Skis are the 1969-70-71 style and look to be in pretty good shape.

What I know about this sled is: A friend of the family asked my brother to "hot rod" his Cat. I don't know when or why the original jackshaft front end was replaced. They put a Kohler 340 free-air in it with open stinger pipes. To cut down on some of the pipe noise, they curved the stingers into two holes in the side of the tunnel. This is also when the rear suspension was modified and the Puma/Cheetah bars and dash were added. It turned out to be a pretty quick ol' Panther. After one season, the Kohler was removed and the CCW put in, and the original chrome pipes were put back on. It was run a few more seasons and then put in a shed. The friend then moved to Tennesse, but left the sled here in Wisconsin. Fast forward 10 or 15 years and the shed gets torn down and the sled goes up for sale.

I need to get this sled out of the back of my truck... so please, buy the parts from me! LOL! I would be willing to deliver up to 100 miles for a little extra $$$ (gas money). Let me know if you are interested, make an offer, and I'm sure we can work something out.
